How many visitors do you send to online gaming sites to get a depositing player?

One of the primary goals of an online gaming portal site is for the players they send to an online gaming site to make a deposit so they can play for real-money. No deposit, no earnings. It's as simple as that.

But the path from sending a visitor to a website to having a customer deposit is no sure thing. A visitor might just be looking around, and have no interest in actually opening an account. Or a visitor might be interested, but that interest might not translate into making an actual deposit.

This week I thought I'd ask what sort of conversion rate members see. How many players, on average, do you have to send to online gaming sites in order to have one of those players open an account and make a deposit?

For me it depends on the site, the promotions, the reputation ( I am leaning down on only the best sites now) I feel 26-50 is a good avg for me some I get conversions at a 10 to 1 rate if it is a newer site, keep in mond I am mostly poker. Casino converys much better for me so I have been working at expanding this market. One thing I have learned and now working on is the better the content the better the conversion rate. Thus i am also working on fine tuning the content. Time will tell.

    Almost an unanswerable question.

You can of course get clicks to signup ratios, and clicks per depositor by site, but each site seems to have it's own demographic making an "average" almost mythical.

I would agree with gooner. I have one site which I dont know whenthey signed up or when they made a deposit It just shows up as PMP and RMP. So I can only guess

I have one room where I can send them 25+ players before I ever see 1RMP and thats if I am lucky while another room averages 1 in 4 . I think now a days it depends on what they have to offer including how easy or difficult it is for them to fund their accounts.

Very hard to give an average. I find it's relatively easy to attract the one-time deposiors who are looking to take advantage of bonus offers. But getting the repeat depositors you need to build a business is a completely different matter.
    I'd say 1 in 20 for the one-offs.

I sent more than 1000 clicks to Cpays and there were no depositing players, I sent more than 500 clicks to Vegas Partner, there were about 200 downloads and there were no depositng players.

Now I'm working with another programs very closely, and sometimes it's enough 2-10 clicks to receive a depositing player, so I think the average is up to 100 clicks to receive a player.

The difference in conversions between each website and each property I promote varies hugely, but it works out at exactly 96 visitors sent for each depositor over the last 3 months accross all properties and all sites.

Mostly the convertion depends of the origin of traffic.

If origin is google or search engine the convertions is very high. I would say 1 deposit player each 20-30 visits.

If it's from PTC or autosurf, or so....well the convertion drop a LOT!!!

And like the other poll, don't forget the language/market because the ratios can be very diferent in diferents languages. In spanish I need 150-200 hits to the casino site for get a real deposit player and I have 80-85% traffic from Google (in the local version I target [.es]).

    Many Factors

I agree also with gooner, you can not give a true figure of how many people one sends to a Poker or Casino site to get a depositor because there are too many factors involved.

It is hard to tell. However, last year seemed better.

This year I have good clicks, downloads, but depositors are less than normal.

Somewhere in the 50 range seems right, however there are so many factors that it's hard to put a blanket number on it. Factors like:
    - how did a person find your site
    - what your site says and how it looks
    - the programs ability to convert traffic
    - etc.

bumping this thread because I had an affiliate send me 10 downloading players but no conversions and expected at least one. Just curious to see what the climate is like right now. At the moment I am getting my best conversion rates in a long time because I am pushing a very large signup bonus. Conversions are nice numbers to see but of course it matters that the players stay as well.

Can anybody give any feedback on my program in comparison to others? I will share some of my stats. I am averaging a click to download rate of 2:1 for the year, for the summer I had a download to first time depositing player ration around 70 to 1 and recently (due to promotions) is around 40 to 1 which translates to 80 visitors = 1 depositing player.

bump for comments and maybe more results.

For my site it really varies. There is no real trend that I can report. I sometimes wish it was an easy figure to work out as the maths would make it very simple then.

Hopefully one day I will be able to master these stats and get some percentage returns.

    Thanks.

I think that the problem is to find one good depositing player.

Something which many affiliates probably overlook when considering depositing player conversion rates is payment processing, specifically, credit card clearance rates.

Processing issues can often be traced as the cause of a sudden drop in depositing player conversions, and affiliates are usually the last to find out.

Some good advice if you are seeing terrible conversions, is to try some small deposits at a group with different cards to make sure they're definitely clearing transactions.

As for conversions, it depends on many factors, but in the very very worst case scenario, you shouldn't be seeing worse than 1:2000 unique hits/deposits.
I would call somewhere between 1:50- 1:250 the average for good quality, targeted traffic.

Like others have said, it really depends on SO many factors, that it's hard to give a general answer that's actually useful.
