Default How many are willing to give a new company a try

    Hello peeps,

With the recent fiascos around the UK sportsbooks I'm wondering how many are willing to give a new book a try. The reason why I am asking is because after Skybet cleared my account and Bet365 ceased promotions, I was forced to postpone most of my plans and go towards different brands.

And while I am waiting on those to pick up, I was offered an affiliate manager job for an unknown company. I am hesitant whether or not to go for it, because given what happened to me, I am super skeptical towards newcomers. And if I am skeptical I cannot promote anything to fellow affiliates as well.

On a first look, they seem to have good terms, but I'd see more about it tomorrow. Thing is even if they are exceptional, i feel that the lack of track record, will make this an impossible (or close to impossible) task.

I was wondering if I am being too negative because of the recent events, or other affiliates have a similar view on that matter.

    Regards,

    It depends.

On regulated markets, new brands are usually brands with some history in other markets. New brands could be interesting among all those saturated brands in some markets.

In markets with plenty of choice, it's another thing. I am willing to give new brands a chance, but not if:

    - it's a white label that's on a platform with 10s of other sites that are looking quite the same.
    - it's on a Curacao or other crappy license.
    - if it's not clear to me who's the owner. A lot of "new" brands are just re-launches of crashed projects.
    - it's clear to me they have no serious budget. If they have max. withdrawals of a few hundred bucks - few thousand a month, I assume they lack budget to compete seriously.
    - if they have no serious offer of games.

Have you met them face to face? You can gain a lot of confidence or otherwise from meeting and speaking with people directly.

It's also worth checking the track record of the people behind the operation - if they have experienced backgrounds in the industry they may just be wanting to go it alone.

I guess gut feel also goes a long way and the fact that you've posted this rather than jump at the opportunity may speak volumes.

    How new is "new"?

If the owners / operators have previous track record in this industry - and it's just a new brand and well financed ... then maybe.
If it's completely new, starting with fwe employees, licensed out of Curacao or Costa Rica and unwilling to share ownership details - then ... no.

From what I was told brand new. Licensed in Malta, I tried to check track history but nothing came up. I don't want to advertise them around here, but if you pm me, I can give you the site.

You can check when the license is issued. That should be 2017 then. If earlier, there must be some history.

Hey, that's not too old at all. Only a few years.

I'm a bit more outgoing, so I'm more on the side of trying new companies, but I definitely want to do whatever research I can ahead of time too so that I'm not walking into something totally blind.

You have to do your research in everything that you do. You're absolutely right.

New isn't always that bad . I know affiliates tend to go for Casinos with History and pedigree and who have been operating for a few years but there new operations run by independent people with bankroll that show promise and the fact they are new sometimes isn't as bad thing as they do not carry a lot of baggage and sometimes can get things done sooner , quicker and more efficiently than the bigger operators witch in some cases may be a good thing for an affiliate . The fact they new also give you a little leverage when negotiating deals etc as they need your business maybe that much more . Do your due diligence of course make sure the brand is licenced where it should be that the terms meet your requirements etc but i would say new guys also deserve a shot to prove they can operate in this environment .

Spoke with them today. The brand is called bet90. It's brand new. They'd be approaching the forum and probably will be here soon. On paper, and in words everything looks good. But as the industry has taught us, we need to see it work in action. We agreed, on me helping them out and I am talking directly to the person in charge.

In order this thread to not get derailed, and turn into some self promotion or whatever, I am leaving it as it is.
