It would be interesting to know how we react to twitter direct messages, how often do we reply to them and why or do we neglect them.

I never reply, they are too many![]()
If something is really interesting and isn't spammy then I might reply. More often than not though, I ignore.
I'll reply back to people I know online.
I will reply to anything that is relevant and not a promo message.

I have replied to a couple but the user never replies back.
Hint - if you're going to use these forms of marketing, be prepared to reply! If you don't reply people will unfollow etc...

Never...the ones i have bothered reading have been automated spam
I currently have 127 direct messages to go through on Twitter.
Most of them are going to be spam, but I will always go through them once in a while and reply to messages that interest me.
I always feel so free once I have gone through my DMs!
I don't get many DM's there (yahooo) When I do I reply if it calls for a reply. I think I may have had 10 or so in the past year.

I run the Twitter account for Global Live Casino and try and always reply.
There are obviously a lot of people who follow for no reason, and send direct messages that have nothing to do with casino or affiliate programs. But I really think that if you're putting yourself and your brand out there than the point of it is to add another channel of access.
Also from what I understand people can only Direct Message you if your following them as well, so maybe a good way to cut down on spam is to not follow people who are not related to your vertical.
Just my thoughts![]()

I will only reply if I sincerely think it's a real person without self interest. That's when I will reply. Most of the time I can tell they are generic.

I do the same... I just hate it when you send a real message to someone and they don't reply.. whats the point of having followers who are interested in what you're saying if you don't care about interacting with them.
I guess its like support.. You email support for something, they dont reply, you go somewhere else..

I never reply! Most of the time I don't even look at them.
