I am so sick of the social networks i could cry..........There's too many of them now, just too many. Nowwwww not only do yu have to take care of YOUR forum, and maybe try and go say some hellos to the other 5 million forums now, cause there's so many forums, but nowwwwwwww u have to go the 5000 social networks and maybe post or change banners or something on ur page, and throw pies and buy stuff thats stupid to me anyway.
It's the same with everything today, if one thing is good ie Myspace...they innondate with others like it or try to make money with the same sort of thing.
My husband does websites and I can't tell u how many people want to do a site like facebook, and of course thay want to pay maybe 50 bucks for it.......hahaha, and I'm not lying.........it's true.
Sorry to be so nasty about it but those are my thoughts.
I've been doing online gambling, poker, and foruming for over 11 years now and have seen so many changes I can't tell u.

Welcome mooley! It's nice to see your here.

I only have a facebook. I believe it could be a valuable webmaster tool to drive traffic. The trick is finding the time it requires. I don't feel that you can have success without putting a considerable amount of time in it. You are right mooley, they are adding new ones and I can't even keep up with the facebook.

Nandakishore: I think it is very useful to have links in Social Networks like Facebook, Digg etc., but only when you have spend some time in writing something interesting, and that is time consuming. And then I start thinking, shouldn't I rather spend some time on my site? And so far I have decided in favour of spending time on my site.
What Nan said!

Default The benefits are Mixed

Well, we have had a pretty mixed response fro our Web 2.0 activity so far. The social bookmarking thing scene has become better for us over a sustained time period.
We've been at it for over 6 months now, and doing everything mostly inhouse. It's surely picking up, and traffic is gaining, albeit slowly.
Our flash games application on facebook is picking up great response and review so far!
