Thumbs up

2 things:

1) buy SEO for dummies (cheapest and very good book to start with)

2) dont give up... it takes time!!!

One word, and Itay mentioned it "TIME". I can't tell you how many people come into online businesses expecting a get rich quick scheme. It isn't, it's a business and to be successful, needs to be treated that way. Many people come here expecting to put a site up online in an hour and expect it to be full of visitors. There is a lot of competition in this business (over 54 million results for the keyword "casinos" on google alone).

1) Spend a lot of TIME reading the information here or at other similar forums. If you have a question, learn to use the search first as it's probably already been asked at least 3 times and is quicker as it's already probably been replyed to.

2) Spend the TIME on your website, everybody will mention: content, seo, links, etc... You need to do them all. You can write all the content you want, but if you have no links, google, yahoo, msn, and ask won't know your there, they find you by spidering to you from other links. Having a lot of links won't do you any good if you get placed at result 10 million of 12 million, you have to be in the top 11 of any search result to see more than 1 visitor for that keyword.

3) Spend the TIME surfing to other people websites and look at what they do and how they do it, and study every website you go to not just gambling websites, Don't steal materials, Don't copy content, Don't design your site exactly like some elses, but go to many websites and learn from them. Even the simple things like website navigation, there are many ways to do it, some are easy to use, some are not. Learn the things you like, and incorporate similar things into your website.

4) If you are an online gambling affiliate, Spend the TIME downloading the software and playing the games. You can't write about what you don't know about.

Some people don't feel this is important, but I do. Have a passion for what you do, then the work won't seem like work. Some days if my wife didn't yank me out of the house I could spend all day working on my sites as it's the only job I love to do. If you don't enjoy the gambling field, find something you enjoy and learn how to monitize it online. If you do what you enjoy, you already have a competitive edge on a lot of people who don't.

Avoid distractions. Create a work environment that is positive for yourself. Everyone works differently, I do some of my best work on the couch with (now giving out my age) VH1-Classic playing in the background as I listen to the music and don't pay attention to the videos.

Some people don't feel this is important, but I do.

I cant agree with you more! iv been playing on a few of the sites I offer and wow I tried to write content on the poker rooms before I started playing on their software and nothing really came of it. But now iv seen somethings i like and some i don't... So downloading and trying the software is quiet important i think!

Great post. thanks

regards.

my favorite advice is...
EVERYTHING ENDS.. so dont get ur hopes up... it might not last.. but if it does last.. you didnt expect it to last in the first place.. so u'll enjoy it more..
hope it made sense
