We have changed a nunber of things in the awards to make them even better for 2010

    1) Less awards – We have cut it from 23 to 14 and made them more affiliate than operator focused http://www.igbaffiliateawards.com/co...ard-categories

    2) Better venue that will give the event a feeling of 5*

    3) Professional compere – Vote who you want to see now www.surveymonkey.com/s/youdecide

    5) New categories – such as best innovation and best new comer

    6) New judging/voting strategy

iGB Affiliate Announces New Awards Categories and Some Very Funny Business

13 August 2010 (London, UK) -- iGaming Business have announced that nominations for the 4th annual iGB Affiliate Awards will open on 23rd August. Always a much anticipated event, this year will see a number of improvements both in the nominations and voting and at the glittering award ceremony itself, which will take place on Thursday 27th January at the Brewery, London.

This year the awards have been revamped to offer an even better experience for all those taking part be they a nominee or not. “After listening to feedback from the industry, we have changed the nominations and voting process,” said Alex Pratt, Publisher of iGaming Business. “It’s important to us that the awards really celebrate the innovation and hard work of the people in this industry”

This year the number of categories has been reduced to 14 in order to allow for a more comprehensive and transparent judging structure and to ensure the integrity of the awards are upheld. As past winners have testified, winning an iGB Affiliate award really is an amazing experience.

It truly is a wonderful thing to walk away with an iGB Award,” Renee Mate, of Rewards Affiliates admitted. “Knowing that you were voted as the best is the most amazing feeling in the world because you know it comes straight from the people you work with and that your hard work is being appreciated.”

The categories for 2011 will be Best Affiliate Manager, Best Affiliate Program, Best Affiliate in each of the following categories, Bingo, Poker, Sportsbook, Non Traditional Gaming and Overall and new for 2011, Best iGaming Affiliate Network, Best Payment System for Affiliates, Best iGaming Community, Best Newcomer: Operator, Best Newcomer: Affiliate and finally Best Innovation in the iGaming Affiliate Industry.

As the only event to recognise the hard work and dedication in the igaming affiliate industry, iGB Affiliate want to ensure that there is an opportunity for all those involved to be nominated and recognised for their achievements. With these new categories there is now something for everyone and there are more opportunities to acknowledge the work of the affiliates themselves, who are often the unsung heros.

So with the awards themselves revamped the IGB Events team shifted their focus onto the glittering ceremony itself and this year they want you to have the final laugh by helping them decide who will entertain you on the night.

“We want to make this night the very best it can be and one way to do that is a great venue and a great compere," stated Kiera Goymour, Events Manager, “and who better to decide who makes them laugh than the industry itself”.

And so this year the industry has the opportunity to decide who will entertain them. Online voting continues until the 23rd August at www.surveymonkey.com/s/youdecide

I was a bit surprised at some of them..

With no offense intended to the person who won the award, everyone at our table was like wtf when one was called out and couldn't understand how the person managed to win that particular category since it wasn't really relevant to what they do.

As a side note, I think it makes sense to focus the awards more on affiliates.

I don't think there is an awards in the world that doesn't have its results disputed by someone and to be honest that is why we keep refining the system so ultimately we will have teh most perfect results possible .

Saying that I don't think it discredits who has won previously and that they all fully deserved it x 1,000,000

If people are interested in who has won for the last three years you can see it here http://www.igbaffiliateawards.com/co...evious-winners

Good to see the affiliate awards moving away from raw voting power.

It's difficult to compete with the email and contact power of the 500lb Gorilla in our segment who with 50+ staff (according to last years awards) must simply dominate the volume stats as you'd expect.

It would be nice to see GPWA have their own awards even if it were a Virtual Award Show

I definitely didn't mean it like that..

What I meant was, this one in particular was like seeing a female actor win an emmy for best male actor or something like that. They were an actor, yes, but not a male. Not sure if that makes sense.. I think the person def deserved an award, just thought there were other categories that were better suited.
Perhaps this was a consequence of the people voting or judging not really understanding what the people nominated do, or what the criteria was, which is why I think it's great that you guys are trying to make it better and better every year.

I like the consolidation, I think last year there were a few too many awards. I'm curious about the new judging section as well. I think sometimes it feels like ballots get stuffed, so the judging is a really great change.

    Nice work, Alex!
