Wow!!
What a great vacation!
My wife, son and I took a two week road trip from London Ontario through Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. We then traveled north to British Columbia where we visited my sister and her family for a few days before beginning the return trip through Alberta, North Dakota, northern Minnesota, Manitoba and finally northern Ontario and down through Michigan to Port Huron and back into Ontario.
Highlights:
Chicago - what an interesting mixture of old and new architecture. I had a kink in my neck for hours after leaving the city!
South Dakota - The Badlands are awesome. Everyone should experience the ruggedness and raw beauty of this territory at least once.
Wyoming - The mountains and Yellowstone Park, who could ask for anything more?
British Columbia - Eagles and Big-horn Sheep, mountains, hundreds of crystal clear lakes and awesome fishing... simply amazing! I really enjoyed a feed of fresh Kokanee (land locked Salmon) that we caught on Lake Koocanusa.
Banff - Morraine Lake and Lake Louise are spectacular. The Rockies take your breath away.
Northern Ontario - Somewhere between Kenora and Thunder Bay we sited a bear on the side of the road... it was one of my son's favorite moments. The Superior trail is stunning. The rock cuts and cliffs along with amazing views of Lake Superior rival anything we saw out west.
14 days, 8500 kilometers and 1000 photos later... it's time to get back into work mode. At least until next year
I'll post some pics soon but in the meantime I have an album uploaded to Facebook. This is the url...
