INDIA - is it the sleeping giant? What are your experiences so far?

There are a couple of emerging markets out there in this industry and India seems picking up its pace. Knowing the size of the market, it is definately attractive however one must see if they have the right payment mechanisms in place. Would love to know if any of you can share any online gaming experiences in the interesting market.

Yes, they are some restrictions in India regarding gaming. I believe that if they could sort out all their issues, they could really become big in gaming industry. Indians are very cleaver, business oriented and computer literate. They have an Industrial city called Pune, filled with business process out sourcing companies that have taken over work from the UK and other countries.

I totally agree Maria and sports betting will be very strong especially when it come to cricket. Payment methods might be an issue but am sure there is a way around it.

They have similar issues to the Latin-American market. These two markers are so big that it will take some time before they can get it sorted

In the past I've tried some mobile cpc campaigns in India to promote mobile casinos. Lots of clicks, good site usage, but no conversions. Might indeed be because of not offering the right payment mechanisms.

Also tried Brazil and Argentina, with the same results.

But I keep trying every once in a while, since advertising is very cheap

I focus on the UK, but also have good results with Canada, Norway, Sweden, South Africa and Australia. For mobile gambling that is though.
Eastern Europe seems to get more interesting as well.

It has a very big potential to be something, no doubt about that, the problem is that people like to focus on the easy market first, once it is full with fishers, they move on to the second best thing, and of course usually it is too late.
