Issue with BetOline Poker Room - Players $65K confiscated.

I have been reading reports about some player complaint about his $65 000 in his account being frozen and Betonline indicating he was chip dumping. From what i read he has asked for hand histories which have yet to be given.

Interesting story this - one that seems to really hit home there could be trouble brewing. There are several sources on this which i will post.

The affiliate program is Commission.bz and the poker site in question is Betonline.com

Hope this gets resolved - but its important everyone should know. Just wanted to point out this is from another Platinum Sponsor of the GPWA.

Here are reports from several sources I have read.

I read his SBR post (I read most sports site forums) where the player admits chip dumping to his friend on a h2h table ... saying he knew it was wrong but his friend was insistent ... etc .. etc ... albeit this admission only seem to be to a small value.

UPDATE : the sbr post I read ....
    http://forum.sbrforum.com/sportsbook...betonline.html
(or this might be a different case - there seem to be two threads going on at SBR?)

However, the discussions about playing with shared IP addresses, and knowing what should happen etc, suggests that it was not a one-off activity and I get the feeling though that there is FAR more going on than this public admission.

The player writes subsequent posts adding stories about "extra friends" that he invited and additional non-standard activities, inlcuding being at the same table as other "friends" with the same IP at BetOnline Poker and trying it at other poker sites.

What is the deal with the BetOnline Poker room (we don't promote it) ...
    - Is it something that they run?
    - Or is it simply a skin on a network?
    - Who administrates the poker and makes these decisions?
    - Is it the same people as the casino / sports products ?

    UPDATE :
It appears that it's the "ACTION Network" (who?!) which has known problems with multi-account player with the same Ip address.

Whether the confiscation action is justified or not - it still seems that the Poker software is quite substandard.

IF the BetOnline affiliate manager reads this .... I'd like your view on the people running the poker room - and the systems that they are providing. It certainly does not seem to be "best of breed" poker play.

Hey Gooner these are two different cases all together. The post i submitted here is from someone completely different. They (BETONLINE) have not proven anything or provided anything in over 8-9 days to the player. He has denied all wrong doing and has welcomed they prove to him with documents of hand histories he has chip dumped. (if they have this proof send it)

From what i can gather this has happened a number of times with other thread about players having their stacks confiscated and being wrongfully accused of something or another.

At any rate I really think all players and affiliates need to be super careful and keep an eye on this - GOD FORBID this continues to happen.

If i find more of these I will post - but as of now Betonline has kept 65K of this players funds and refused to pay him and will not or has not shown any proof of wrong doing from him but have told him they will send him "how he did it" emails. (according to his posts).

Their support and professionalism is very substandard IMO.

FWIW as an affiliate I would be very concerned.

Thank you for raising this to our attention. I am not aware of what is going on as I was away over the weekend but will ask a few questions and once I have a response I will post it here.

Yes looking for updates on this please Simon - when you have 10 seconds to spare..

Mods maybe its best to apply this thread to the commission.bz affiliate program thread - or I can open a new thread tomorrow. I think affiliates need to be aware of this and the connection between commisison.bz considering its allot of money being seized!!

Not heard anything back from the poker team so I do not wish to speculate and post.

Thank you Michael for moving this.

Ok Simon thanks mate - yeah i was taking you literally when you said "tomorrow" you would post. I guess i should of understood that was not what you meant to say - sorry I tend to take peoples words literally

Ok i will update anything I see from the forums on this - hopefully you have some updates as its going on to the third week this player has been refused evidence of any wrong doing.

Hopefully Betonline can man up and do the right thing.

Ill bump it up before the weekend and next week again .

    Thanks mate

The name of the poker software is?

I read it was their own software and network so surely the hands should be recorded somewhere.

There is controversy with that as well. I am not to well versed though in that area, but from what i read (claims from many others)they share the same network as Action Poker Network.

BetOnline expects to have the $65,000 matter resolved early next week (not sure what that means exactly, but give them some time on that). There are many causes for concern with this poker site - I believe management is well aware of these issues now and hopefully is already taking them seriously, time will tell and I'm sure Stephen and Simon are hoping for the same things as everyone else.
