Default Issue with Page Caching on Wordpress.

Lately I've been providing daily updates to my football accumulator tips which I've been sharing on Twitter. However, I've been having complaints that my followers are clicking the link and seeing a previous day's accumulator. I've had reports today that some are seeing yesterday's and others are seeing Saturday's. Some are saying that they've even cleared cache and still don't see the correct one. I've spent some time searching but can't find any answers.

I've deleted all forms of caching plugins on the site in the hope of fixing it but this doesn't seem to have had any immediate effect. (was running wp-total cache and a few other pagespeed orientated plugins)

Here's the link to my football accumulator tips - be interesting if you see today's accumulator or a previous one - please let me know.

Can anyone share any insight as to how I could fix this?

I'm on mobile and I think it's taken me to the right page - http://www.footballbetprofit.com/accumulator-tips/

Today's date is on the accumulator...

Yeah it's all done on that URL it's just the content that's updated daily. If you're seeing today's date then that's all correct, it just seems that when I get a returning visitor they are seeing an old version of the page and therefore an out of date accumulator.

    I see today's date.

It took a while for the page to load, so I'd presume you're using some poor server and installed a ton of caching plugins to try to make it faster.

Choose one plugin and stick with it.

I did previously have a few speed plugins to see how they performed but wasn't really seeing a difference with any of them.

I removed all of these plugins before I posted this thread so that shouldn't be the reason you're seeing a poor loading speed. Perhaps I need to look at my hosting but this caching issue is a priority for me at the moment.

Check with your host that they aren't also running a cache system on your shared server to lighten the load and extend the number of sites it can run.

This sounds like a likely culprit. Who's the host?

Shoot them an email about it, chances are they've got some caching on their end which you're not aware of.

Oh. In which case tread carefully, a couple of years ago they shut a lot of peoples accounts down for promoting gambling: http://www.gpwa.org/forum/if-you-use...ap-215600.html

Maybe I'll avoid drawing attention to it by contacting them then... any recommendations for hosting companies?

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking.

Host, depends on your needs really (cop out answer). I quite like xilo and rochen at the moment. Can also recommend krystal and jolt.

It sounds like your cache might need flushing, maybe try deleting the cache plugins once deactivated, and also check your htaccess file since most cache plugins tend to add some additional lines in there, which you'll want to remove. Hope you get it sorted
