Default Just been watching seo videos

I advise all newbies and intermediate affiliates watch the seo videos on youtube by the likes of will reynolds they are amazing. I learnt stuff today I knew nothing about. He talks in his link building section about nofollow tags and how people are using them in a reciprocal link building way that you link to them and your link back to your site has a nofollow tag giving you no page rank. Definately check out these videos they are a great help.

I attended a SEO session by Wil Reynolds and it was fantastic. I get some great SEO tips from Wil's Delicious bookmarks. Google for them and you will find them.

Thanks for sharing, Rob. They're great videos but they've led me to spend far too much time on Touchgraph! It's sobering to type in competitive phrases to see how Google sees this industry - and how I don't fit in at all...

Haha, that post prompted me to check out Touchgraphs and I definately got sucked in as well. In addition to the Google Touchgraph (which maps out related sites and how they connect to one another), Touchgraph has a similar mapping system for Friend connections on Facebook. Basically you install the Facebook application and it analyzes how you're friends are connected to you and to one another, then maps them out graphically with color coding of different clusters. Definately very cool to see how it categorizes clusters of friends -- the mapping is pretty accurate for me in terms of identifying people who I know through the same source all into the same group. I suppose if I'd thought about it I would have thought a technology like this exists, but it is striking to see it in action.

And about the SEO videos recommended I'll definately have to check them out.

That touchgraph is interesting - but a little weird in its linkages.
Doing our own URLs certainly pulled up some surprises.

Having a look at some of the stuff though - it starts getting scarily advanced. it seems to be either one way or the other - too simple or too advanced. any ideas for somewhere in between?

All SEO work can be a little daunting at first. Stick with the simple stuff initially and you'll come across the more advanced topics as you go. Once you've heard about something 'new' a few times, that's the time to investigate it further.

Just watch and read as much as you can, without getting too concerned about the stuff that seems too in-depth. It all becomes clearer as time goes on...

...with the caveat that no-one really understands all of it!
