Keywords - to niche or not to niche

Hey, I am starting up as a bingo affiliate. There is a little money to invest but it's not my fulltime job at the moment. As a new small affiliate, is it possible to make money targetting the common keywords 'bingo' 'online bingo' etc or have the big hitters got these so well covered that it's not worth it?

If you're domain is new and you want "bingo" or "online bingo" as the starting keywords for promotion, I suggest you try to go for long tail keywords to target a visitor. Try to use 3 or 4 words for your keywords to get away from a big competition and if you think soon you achieved a good campaign, then try to apply those major ones.

Yes I would go for longtails/niches first. once you start getting some traffic for the longtails you can either find more niches or else start to target keywords with more competition.
