My second website, please review my website!

    Hello!,

Firstly I have to say that it is still not 100% finished like the navigation, there are only two tabs at this moment.
But I created something different than a normal affiliate website, I wanted to make a clean and professional looking website. Did I achieve that?

Another difference with this website is the registration. When you want to have a bonus, you have to register first, that makes it a bit more exclusive and for promotion usage better (Emails will be used for my own new promotions).

If you want to review it, but you dont want to recieve further promotions, just PM or reply with your username and I will delete it

    Here is the website: http://www.online-slots-bonuses.com

Here are some screenshots if you dont want to register:

    This is the homepage

This is the page when you are logged in, and clicked on a casino bonus.

    Thanks for reviewing!

It looks great Coen. Clean and professional looking indeed! BRAVO

One question, wouldn't it be better to be without the apostrophe and just have it as Casinos?

    I see it, cools

You should do the same for the ones in the top content as well.

My one concern would be the lack of content. Whilst it's really nicely laid out, a lack of text will not do it many favours when it comes to ranking. The other thing with that is, if you ever pick up a manual Google review, the site looks very thin affiliate due to lack of written content. It also seems strange to me that you have to register to look at the pages when you click through the images on the homepage. Ok, great for collecting emails, but you won't have any pages in Google to rank for the more valuable search traffic.

Also, you have a severe case of grocers' apostrophe going on. The Casino drop down on the top navigation has all the casinos listed as casino's. It's already been mentioned and corrected elsewhere, but seriously looks bad. Personally, if I see lots of mistakes like that in the copy of a site, it's a real turn off as it looks really unprofessional.

    Hi DaveL,

First of all, thanks for taking the time to review my website
About the grocer's apostrophe, it looks indeed unprofessional when I look at it. Its hard to notice it myself when English is not my native language
And about the page restrictions, maybe I have to think about another approach to attract the visitor in taking a bonus yet giving his e-mail address to me.

Thanks again for your valuable input, and I am gonna work on it! (I learn a lot working on English websites for sure ; )

I wouldn't worry, a large number of those whose first language is English get it wrong all the time as well.

I think you should shift your focus from email to on-page content. You will find it tough to get visitor first, so why loose them by making them sign-up? Many will just click away. You can put a sign-up box somewhere on the page for those that want to give you email, and let everyone see the content pages. Email lists are very over-rated IMO.

    Hi DaveL,

I thought about the restrictions, and I think you are right about losing many potential players. Therefore I removed the restriction and you take the bonus without registering first, I think its better now. Now I am going to focus on more content and maybe a e-mail registering field (optional )

    Thanks!

definately a smart move removing the registration, i can see the thinking behind it but you would lose a lot of potential customers, the layout is really good but and daveL makes a good point, its a hard one because visitors arent really that interested in reading hundreds of lines of text on a bonus, they want what you have and thats big blocks clearly showing the bonus, but the catch 22 is that search engines see the page as thin, im no expert but if you have a blog on the site you could fill it with content and link keywords to the main index page, just a though, and good domain name btw

Definitely better without the registration - unless you had some juicy exclusive bonuses no one would bother signing up and you just wouldn't make any cash.

I like the layout of the bonuses, but the header could do with being a bit more interesting - maybe get a custom one designed (it's really not that expensive). I would also recommend adding some content aimed at long tail terms.

Thanks Itsblitz and Baldidiot for replying!

I think the main issue is ranking in Google. I know its hard when you dont have much content. I have added several SEO plugins to my wordpress website, maybe it helps. But I am a gambler myself and when I look at my website, I am pretty happy with it Still looking for a mail subscribe form, but thats not a problem.

The header looks indeed boring, but keep in mind I want to add more pages therefore there will be more navigation tabs.

Its far from finished but I like it alot

I like your site too Coenie. Clean style with lot's of "call to action" opporunities.

I'm new to web design and gaming promotion but all I've been told everywhere, by everyone is that content will be critical for you.
It's good you're fixing the grammar others have pointed out. When you get content on your site you'll have to be extra diligent about proper grammar and spelling as it does turn people off.

    Good work and goodluck.

    Hi Coenie,

I can only lend my support to the comments above, I really like the visual affect of the layout but agree totally that you should work towards striking a more 'Google-Friendly' approach to content. There's def room for development of the header and I would change the font on the 'casinos' menu in the header - having the text in bold make it harder for me to read, also having casino with a lower-case 'c' next to Contact with an upper-case 'C' looks odd.

Your home page focuses on the casinos themselves so in terms of content development maybe look at developing a section focussed on new game releases. The same page style and layout with a nice promo video for the game or one of your own review videos might go down well with perhaps a 'Top 5 Places to Play this Game' listed underneath the video - just an idea? May also prove easier as plenty of the content can be provided for you. Casinos launching a new game will get standard promo texts from the software supplier. If you take these descriptions on their own then Google wont be too impressed but at least it can give you the basis and ideas for writing your own review. There can be so few differences between one game and another that by the time you are on your 8th review it's hard to come up with new ideas - I know, I've tried!

Once again, I think you've done a great deal with this site already

    Hi HodgeyBoy,

I am so happy with your in-depth review, you gave me some really valuable feedback! I have already changed the font size, and indeed it looks better.
The lower and upper 'C' from casinos and contact I really overlooked it until you said it, thanks
About the "Google friendliness" issue, you gave me some good food for thought, Iam already making a top-10 casinos tab. But the Ideas you gave me I will definitely look into!.

    Thanks again,

    Coenie.

Looks good coenie, a lot better than your previous site. Can't really add anything besides the comments already make. But I can relate to the google friendliness issue. I started off thinking the same, not too much text to the point, usability friendly. But then there's seo :O
Good luck with your new site!
