    New Affiliate - Mentoring

    Hey guys,

I hope this post is in the correct place and doesn't overstep at all MODS - please feel free to move or even delete if there is a problem with the post.

I have decided to take on new affiliates over a period of up to 1 year. The plan is to help them get a website up and running (with a custom template), pick proper affiliate programs, and even help with SEO. This is a FREE offer... the details can bee seen at:

    AGD New Affiliate Mentoring

You can read up on the purpose of this mentorship at the URL above. AGD will be covering a number of typical costs for a website. The only cost to the potential webmaster would be that they purchase their own domain name ($10 most likely). After that, they will have a website on a host that we provide.. and we will create a custom template for their website (which will likely be Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal - depends upon the experience level of the webmaster).

    Hope to have some takers

Very generous offer from one of the classiest affiliates in the biz! Anyone looking to break into the business would be foolish not to take this offer and run with it... all the way to the bank.

    Thanks everyone.

Free is always good It's more of an effort to get folks who are 'on the fence' into this industry. It's a competitive industry, but anyone can make money in it.

I thought of it because I remember being 'on the fence' for about a year before I got involved. I wish I would have had this type of offer to get me involved more quickly.

Anyone who knows me or even of my reputation will know that this is an HONEST offer from an honest individual. It is not given so that I can make money off of people... if it were, it wouldnt' be free

So - I hope any fears and worries can be alleviated Feel free to pop a question to anyone and ask them about me. I think you'll find that this offer is as real as it gets.

Mentoring new affiliates is a very good idea, especially when it is backed by SEO and then FREE, apart from buying the domain name. It would be interesting to know how many newbies will go for it.

    KWBLUE,
I noticed this on AGD, and thought it was a great idea. It is enormously generous of you.

I started to think of how this would be possible to implement. Since so many new webmasters quite after a few weeks, you might want to have a condition that if the they stop to promote the site the domain goes back to you as well as the content. I don't know exactly how you could define the minimum criteria for the webmasters performance. It would be frustrating to show new webmasters the "secrets" of success, and then find that they give up or worse, sell your work from under you.

Great idea, and really, really generous of you.

Very nice offer kwblue! I have another cool niche nobody is supporting for affiliates. It would fit perfect on your board as well.

I think this is a great idea too...

I'm wondering how you would feel about me sending some of my affiliates over to you who are not net savvy at all?
(when I say not at all, i mean they dont even know what a domain is)

    Don't laugh, i'm dead serious!

I had one guy who didn't know what a domain was, and when I explained that it was the address of the website, he asked where he could buy our domain from. I told him that he wouldn't be able to buy an existing domain and that he would need to think of his own and buy that. He said "I know, but where do I buy your domain"..

Apart from that I wasnt able to understand him very well because he had no teeth and wasn't able to contact via email/msn because he had parkinsons and wasn't able to really type.

I did help as much as I could though.

Obviously I don't get many like this, but I do get a lot of affiliates who need help making a website or just getting to know the basics, and while I can help them good, I personally think an affiliate who is doing this stuff might be able to offer some more advice beyond what I can give..

That is a fantastic offer. I know that if it wasn't for several friends helping me out at the start, I would have probably thrown in the towel.

To help KWBlue, I am happy to offer space on one of my two dedicated servers, plus a unique IP. Running CPanel with all the regular addons that goes with it. Let me know if you ever need it.

Please do, Renee. The goal here is to get new affiliates PAST that point where many give up. I want the new-newbies Those who have a WANT to make money, but may not know how to begin. I'd like to get them moving quickly, get their sites indexed, and see how we can move them to profitability much more quickly than I was able to do myself in the early days Anyone who wants to join up, just post a reply at:

There is a mentoring forum at AGD which will show the progress of each website... Not all the details, of course, but as many as make sense to reveal.

I know what Andy will be up against as I have personally tutored and help beginning webmasters launch sites and learn since the beginning of the internet.

It's not gonna be easy at times Andy, trust me....at least you hopefully will not have to teach them how to use a computer....that I have also done for people since the early 90's....LOL

Geez, I could probably tell ya stories about that...kinda tough when your trying to help someone on the phone and when you tell them to type something at the command prompt and they say something like, "is a c the circle that is closed or open?"....

Andy, hopefully YOU will never hear that question....LOL

One you will hear though is, does the forward slash lean left or right?

Don't worry.. I've been through it before

I actually teach classes as part of my living. I have for 10 years now. I tend to teach people who are moving technologies.

One job I had, I was to teach a series of classes:

    1. Intro to computers - low level
    2. Intro to windows - low level
    3. Intro to Plant Operations (specific) - low level
    4. Intro to Plant Operations (specific) - medium level
    5. Advanced Plant Operations
    6. Plant Historical Data Administration
    7. Plant Administration / Development

The first class was brutal. Not only was I teaching folks who had to be taught what a mouse was (yes, all the mice jokes came up).... But nobody wanted to move technology, so I heard stuff like... (pardon upcoming language)...

'Why the fuck do I have to be in the class?'

'I'm never going to fucking touch this stuff anyway!'

and my favorite, when I was showing the class how to use the 'Windows Start Button' (you know, gets to 'All Programs'... etc.. ) on a HUGE projected screen with all their eyes on me and the projected display... I asked them to click the start button and got:

'This fucking sucks. I did that and my whole fucking screen went blank!'

I thought it was strange as I was walking them very slowly step by step through the process..... But, when I asked him to show me what he did... yep, you guessed it..

He pushed the power button on the computer

We got through it, though And he learned how to operate the plant effectively with a fairly complex control system.

I think that this is a really great idea. As one fairly new-newbie myself, I know how confusing everything can be when you first start out. If it wasn't for my mentor, I honestly don't if I could be where I am today. Good luck to you!
