Default New site - needs review

    Hi all,

We are really interested to get more knowledge about the industry, can someone advise what should be done better on the site and what should be improved to become competitive in the sports/gambling industry?

    https://smashingtip.com/

    Thank you!

Hey Smashing, I really like the layout of your website. Personally, I find it an attractive layout that is easy to navigate. As I'm heavily into NBA I looked at your basketball content and took a read. People who are into Sportsbetting content are picky and I'll pick out some parts that I think could be made better.

I'm looking at your review of Brooklyn Nets vs Detroit Pistons.
    Sport Type: Basketball
    League: NBA
    Brooklyn Nets - Detroit Pistons
    Smashing TIP

Pistons are on a winning rampage lately. Despite the fact, that they are playing on the road, we think that the dynamic duo in Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin will be too much for Nets defense. We suppose that Pistons are going to win this game.

I think that instead of saying "We suppose that Pistons are going to win this game." you should say something along the lines of "We predict Pistons will win by X points. Take Pistons to win at X odds for a stake of X units" Anyone can pick a team to win, but picking a team to win at profitable odds and a correct stake will draw better attention to your articles.

The rest of the content in that article provides factual information, but is information that lot's of other websites already provide, talking about trends ect. I would try for a more unique approach if possible. That's just my opinion and I'm sure many would argue that it is fine content but I believe it is often used a lot.

    Good luck with your website!

Overall, I think that your website is alright. It loads quickly for me and it's also mobile friendly. I like how you can subscribe to receive newsletters. This to me shows that you are telling your audience that you're taking your work seriously and that you want them to be a part of that. It's also good to see that you're promoting "Gambling Awareness" through your site. The logo that you have chosen to use for "Smashing Tip” blends in well with the background and to me it symbolises that you're offering your audience excellent and relevant tips and information that are really worth checking out. Your site is diverse and covers a number of sports thoroughly and your use of soccer balls and basketballs for bullet points looks neat. Well done.

On a side note, I think that you should consider using a "Suggestions" box for people to leave their suggestions for you so that you can take them onboard for future reference and improve more on your website. I'm not a big fan of using a comments section, but you can also consider creating one for people to let you know what they think. Just remember that there's always more room for improvement.

Good design. I suggest you also create more than just sporting update articles. Blogging or simply content is also an important aspect of today's promotion of website so I will recommend that you take it seriously. You can check some of our articles on this site which is similar to yours

Can't say I like the domain or logo choices. Smashing Tips sounds better then Smashing Tip imo. I get you've gone with a hammer for the logo because of Smashing in the brand name but it has nothing to do with sports betting nor is it eye catching. I also don't like how the top navigation is tucked away in the top right, you kinda have to go looking for it, which is not very user-friendly.

Regarding the way how we are writing, so we are looking to do the way your telling, but a bit later once we will add API`s or something like that as now it doesn't make sense to promote under or overs or hadicaps, so we are leaving flexibility to people to choose their self, however thanks for your opinion! it's useful!

comments sections it's something what we will add also, however a bit later, once we will see more traffic coming from countries we are trying to target.
At the moment things are moving fine and once we reach our inside KPIs we will start adding some updates to the site.

    thank you for your opinion!

at the moment we had some consultations with some top brands, so they are more than sure that our way of writing should convert the audience up to were we are going to redirect them as it's very targeted and for free.

Could you please advise, what exactly you think should be changed in the way we are writing ? it can be very useful!

    thank you!

Re navigation, it's a very good point as it's something what we are going to develop as soon as we will be done with API (if we succeed there).

    thank you!

Site looks ok, but you should fix and check some words better, just a little example:
"Estádio da Luz, in Lisabon, in the Europa League Quarter-Finals first leg. Benfica against Eintrac"

    it´s Lisbon, not Lisabon

is understandable but for some may be no

The UX to actually get to a bookmaker and make a bet is not there. But I'm guessing you're aware of it.

Use "deep linking" tracking codes to the event you're writing about. Then you'll be good to go!

Generally the site looks good. But it is difficult to read the text overlaying images on my device, background picture and the text seem to merge.
