    And now the spam begins

I had an email address I created for Luck3, today I was spammed on it. So... Luck3 has now sold it's database of player emails or so it appears.

If you did not use it for anything but that, then it would appear to be the case.

Also, did you use a word that is not commonly used? Things like sales, info, tech, hostmaster are commonly spammed at domains.

If they did not do it directly, then someone working for them did it.

I used a specific name for the email. Don't want to post it here as it would be too easy to figure out but the email was created solely for the player account and never used. I think the only time I used it was to confirm the email at sign up.

With this in mind, the email address was purchased, stolen or otherwise acquired by illegal means.

I was going to go ahead and delete the email address but figured I'd leave it for a time to see how many more spams I get. This spam came from an affiliate with Affactive.

That certainly confirms and proves the theory...

Sad part is that depending on who it was sold to the first time, it could easily be traded/sold many more times over.....
