I can't seem to get around it. Yes kids will do it. Kids will also find a way to buy booze. But I keep going back to we don't put liquor stores next to schools.

There are millions of kids on facebook. I have to ask myself do I feel good about putting gambling info there? The answer right now is no. I have not been convinced otherwise yet. This is strictly my opinion and I am only speaking for myself.

Another example is when my son was about 12. He bought an adult oriented cd. Yes it's his responsibility not to buy it and yes, it's my responsiblility not to let him. Yes, I took it away from him. I took it back to the store and asked the clerk why he sold it to him. He claimed it was my duty to moniter it. Well thats what I was doing but he also has a responsibility as well IMO. He was copping out. He also had a duty to at least try not to sell to minors. One only had to look at my son to see he was 12 lol. I don't want to cop out here and say it's the parents job etc. It takes a whole village to raise a child.

This guy was hopefully not the norm and breaking the store rules I'm sure, but it's an example of how "the way things should be" don't always turn out as intended, but that's life.

The fact that liquor stores are not next to schools is more of a "front" of protection IMO as kids drinking are not anywhere near the school, but at a home or place where they are obviously unsupervised.

Having adult products where kids have access is life. Stores are one example. Because they sell beer and other stuff not kid friendly does that mean that we should remove all of those products from the grocery stores or build separate stores? Are you going to stop going shopping?

Well no but liquor stores have people physically checking id's. Of course kids still get around it but the store will be fined and held liable if they don't take proper precautions. On social networks there is no strong safeguards in place. We don't see a bar set up in a kids game room (I think lol). It just doesn't make sense to bring it to the kids without safety in place. That is our responsability as affiliates IMO. Just my opinion mind you.

We havn't even gotten into the legalities yet!

I'm taking about grocery stores not liquor stores. This is another "front" of protecting the kids.

They sell beer and kids are allowed access to the store, but not allowed to purchase it. So what happens? Let's say the kid steals the beer and get caught. Now there are two problems that have life changing affects for the kid which could have been prevented by not allowing the beer. Do we remove those products from the store?

So in an effort to protect the kids, do those that are "protecting" the kids not go to the grocery store for food because you know that they sell beer and kids have access to it?

In my mind it's the same thing. They have tools to prevent it just like facebook, casinos and every other adult type situation where kids may have access.

Ok. Good argument. I had to think about this one.

The store can catch that kid stealing because you can see him. Well, not always lol. It reminds me of when I stole a huge bottle of coffee brandy when I was a teenager but thats another story. I didn't get caught.

It wasn't the stores fault in this case. They had all the due dilligence in place. I was just a bored and thoughtless kid.

The store can catch that kid as I said. We as affiliates online would be unable to police it. As soon as there is one problem there will be zillions of parents shaking their fingers at us. Not to mention that the FBI was looking at the March Madness bets. They would probably have a field day with this if we aren't careful. Evil gamblers peddling to our children! It's not true of course but enough pressure and it won't matter anyway. Many put gambling in the same category as porn when it comes to children.
