Default Online sports betting rises nearly 60% in Italy during 2017

According to a report from Italian news outlet Agimeg, Italians wagered 5.6 billion euro in 2017 on sports, a 59.4% increase compared to 2016, making up 56% of the entire online gambling market.

Overall, Italians wagered a record 9.9 billion in 2017 online, up from 7.5 billion in 2016 and 5.5 billion in 2015. These figures got a huge boost from a 287% rise in December thanks to the Serie A football staging matches being played through the holiday season.

This increase is huge and if you think that Italy was for some years in financial crisis, then its weird!

People in Italy love to bet i.e you can see on a regular game in football, Seria A - how many bookies and casinos are advertising. Bit more than in the UK. The mentality of people has thus moderated that betting i,e in casinos it is kind of tradition. For the most curious if you try to figure out how many "dodgy" and "soft" bookies/online casinos are operating along with the regulated ones.
Another interesting feature is that Italian market is a big average stake/bet.
In future 5 years, the Italian market and the money spent on betting will raise definitely.

Not only will the gambling market improve for Italy within the next five years, but I believe that it will improve generally and overall throughout the world. Only time will tell us.

I could see there was huge growth coming to Italy, and so set up calciotips.it, but never really got it started due to concentrating on main business,
