Default partypoker merges French and Spanish player pools

partypoker's .eu platform went live on Monday, giving Spanish and French customers the opportunity to play against each other.

As part of the "celebration," the GVC Holdings-owned site announced that Bertrand Grospellier, better known as ElkY, has joined partypoker as an ambassador and it will more than double its multi-table tournament schedule for its French players while Spanish players will be able to play MTTs for the first time since that format was pulled.

    From the partypoker blog:

Both .es and .fr players will be able to join the newly formed network with the Spanish client receiving a significant upgrade to complement the launch. Over the summer months, further software improvements to both the Spanish and French clients will be rolled out and players will also see a new MTT schedule and an overhauled MTT festival calendar.
partypoker Managing Director Tom Waters added: “We are delighted that ElkY is joining us at partypoker. ElkY has a fantastic profile and has great experience both in France and across the world and this makes him a perfect ambassador for us ahead of the shared liquidity launch. We will be looking to translate recent successes we have seen in our dotcom market to the new .eu market and ElkY will be instrumental in helping us to achieve our goals.”

Excellent news for both Spanish and French customers and also, for our industry and business when it introduces this new multi-table tournament schedule.

This is for sure good news for Spain and France players, but for those promoting poker keep in mind, this is not like PokerStars that accepts players from anywhere, is just for Spain and France players.

I have seen a lot of interest from our players specially from Spain to play in the pool, and the room is making a good investment in having a very decent tournament calendar.

Let's wait how that works, Pokerstars Europe is just huge now, but if players think about it maybe Party is a better option.

This market is also waiting for a big player, Winamax which is as I know working in the licenses for shared liquidity pool
