Playtech reaches deal with California Online Poker Association

Online gambling software provider Playtech is betting on online poker being legalized and regulated in the United States, specifically in the state of California. It reached a deal with the California Online Poker Association to provide software to Californian poker players.

The Financial Times claims Playtech outbid several competitors to get the license, including bwin.party.

James Hollins, analyst with Investec, said: “We see California as the key state in terms of poker liquidity and COPA a highly attractive licensee within it. Playtech is therefore very well placed for potential US poker legislation, in our view.”

Shares in Playtech had risen more than 6 per cent by mid-morning on Tuesday.

As a native Californian this is good news to me, and a good direction for the industry. Guess we'll have to wait out where this will lead.

They are going to do it for COPA.. California Online Poker Association.. which is made up of 31 state-licensed Californian card clubs and 29 federally recognized Californian tribal governments.

Is it just me, or is the amount of spam going through this forum at the moment just out of control?

little or no contribution, empty no meaning posts. This last guy just pretty much did a copy and paste of one of my previous posts.

    wtf?
