Police seize poker winnings from private home.

    http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2011/ju...artner=popular

KNOXVILLE - Knox County Sheriff's Office deputies raided yet another allegedly illegal gambling operation Wednesday night.

The latest raid targeted a poker game inside a private residence in the Bexhill subdivision in West Knox County, according to a KCSO spokeswoman Ashley Haynes.

Deputies discovered eight people around one poker table at 1304 Buxton Drive, and seized approximately $1,000 cash, Haynes said.

No arrests were made, but all information was turned over the Knox County District Attorney General's Office for possible charges, she said.

The raid follows at least seven other such operations carried out by KCSO within the past five weeks, targeting underground poker games .

More details as they develop online and in Friday's News Sentinel.

Obviously another PR campaign by the local Police Department to show that they are getting tough on crime and spending their time and resources wisely.

LOL What a ridiculous piece of news. How is someone supposed to react to news like that? "OMG, some people were playing poker at a private residence, that is so outrageous!" haha I love it how they tried to make it sound dramatic, "Deputies discovered eight people around one poker table" Meanwhile rainforests are disappearing, and the ozone layer is dying. But of course those things aren't important, people playing poker is a much more serious issue LOL

FBI report says Knoxville is safer than it was two years ago. Violent crimes were down by more than 4% from 2009-2010. Other crimes, like car thefts and burglaries, were up.

Was this a private home game, or a "public" game? If it was private, how the heck did they find out about it? Unless "Bob" got pissed off at losing too much last week that he told the cops
