Pulling Out from U.S. - Summary List of eWallet Closures
There is so much information coming out at such a rapid pace that is can be difficult to follow it in exacting detail. For covenience, this thread is aimed at a broad overview of which sites have announced closure.
To keep this useable as a quick reference source, please make sure any announcements are confirmed by the company (please include source). This should be for announcements of U.S. restrictions only, announcements of continuing to accept US transactions should be posted at http://www.gpwa.org/forum/neteller-ewallet-news-announcements-169178.html.
If you're unsure whether your comment should be posted in this thread or elsewhere, feel free to post here and if appropriate I'll move it.

Moneybookers does not accept U.S. gaming transactions
Didn't know if anyone knew this or not:
Quote:
... Moneybookers has never supported or accepted US players for deposits and pay outs to and from gaming operators. Therefore, Moneybookers is no alternative for US players at all, and has never been.
If online gambling companies accept and present Moneybookers as a payment method, then it just means that certain non US-based players can use our payment solution.
In the US, customers can register at Moneybookers, but only use our service for E-Commerce or p2p-transactions. Transactions to and from gambling companies are not accepted.
Thanks in advance,
Thorsten Sandhaus

And don't forget FirePay
They pulled out in October when Congress first passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

My friend got through to them by telephone an hour ago and they told her no more US registrations and no more US transactions. Anyone know if this is true?

Click2Pay not accepting new U.S. accounts - Confirmed by customer support
Summary: Click2Pay is not accepting NEW U.S. accounts, but previously existing accounts can still be used for gambling-related transactions.
Details: I just tried to reopen a Click2Pay account and can confirm that they have implemented restrictions against U.S.-based accounts. When registering I received a screen indicating...
Quote:
You are using an IP address which indicates that you are not located in the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, Canada, South Africa, France, Austria or Germany.
|
My IP indicates that I am from the United States, so I tried to call the U.S. customer support. The U.S. line rang for at least a minute (ringing, not on hold) then I hung up and tried international support. So from that experience it looks like they're not answering the U.S.-facing phone.
When talking with international customer support I was told that they were not accepting new accounts from the United States. I asked about the possibility of reopening my account (which I'd closed a few months ago because I decided I did not want to deposit any more money into my poker accounts). I was told that it would be possible to reopen the account. I probed this to ask if I would be able to make the same types of transactions that I previously made -- specifically stating that this would mean depositing into a poker account -- and was told that I would be able to with the reactivated account.
I asked when to expect a statement on the website and didn't get an answer, and was informed that this policy was put in place "a few hours ago." The customer support rep also indicated that the timing of the policy was why the error screen for the IP location message still included the United States in the list of countries...the system to block registration from U.S. IPs had apparently been updated but the error message hadn't been updated yet.
