    Question about conversion rates

    Hello folks.

I have a fair bit of experience developing and ranking sites but I'm new to betting affiliation.

I wanted to ask what sort of conversion rates people get with targeted sites.

Obviously this will vary wildly, but some ballpark figures would be useful.

I'm currently working on the assumptions that I'll make an average of £20 from a signup, and convert about 0.1% of traffic, so an average visitor would be worth £0.02.

    Am I way off?

Other people may be better positioned to answer this John, but I think that it is to much of a broad question to give even a semi-accurate answer to. You would need to ellaborate on the following:

    • What niche you are referring to, different gambling niches will have different player values to an affiliate.
    • Your traffic sources. For example you could convert 20% of traffic if it is through a highly targetted search term, but 0.001% if through social media.
Either way, I would say 0.1% is extremely low!

    Cheers,
    Dave

OK, that's understandable, I should have explained a bit more.

I have a site aimed at the sports betting market in the UK.
I am targeting 1000 uniques a month from search.
It is a good keyword domain and I'm pretty confident I can achieve that.

My 0.1% estimate is based on averaging one sign up a month from that level of traffic.
If it doesn't produce at least that sort of level, I should be spending my time elsewhere.
If it does, then it's worth continuing building traffic.

I've estimated the average sign-up at £20 because most CPA offers are at around that level - I'm assuming that % based commissions would average out about the same over the long term.

I appreciate that there are a lot of factors involved, thanks for your help anyway.
I guess there's really only one way to find out...
