In terms of your other questions I wouldn't say its over saturated - It is definitely not easy and some keywords (the obvious ones) are extremely competitive. My advice is go after a niche in the traditional gambling such as a specific slot or type of slot, approach it from a different angle e.g. what the poker training sites have done, or go after one of the newer games /genres such as Rummy or dominoes and become the best at that. There are also a large number of long tail key words that can deliver extremely good revenue.

With regards to Adult taffic, this has been mentioned a few times in various forums and tyhe general consensus is that the traffic doesn't really cross over - They are certainly a smilar demographic but the user is involved in a different thouht process if they are looking for porn or looking for gamble, you aren't normally looking for one and then switch to the other I say normally

There is a lot of help here so ask away and look around - Your background will definitely help you and once you get going you will soon be hooked especially with the levels of revenue in this market

May I jump on a soap box to say this:

This most common mistake, in my opinion, is not doing enough research on who you will promote. Any program you join, look to see how is active, see who pays late etc etc.

I feel so bad when I see some one join this industry and then not get paid.

You will names, like Renee. Shawn O'Neil, etc etc pop up all the time. These are really good people.

Unlike many, I feel this industry has some GREAT companies to work for. So skip the looser scumbags out there, don't take chances, work for the good guys. Help us turn around the impression of the industry.

Being I have also spent some time in the adult side of things, is tricky to get them to gel. Some folks are good at one and not others. I will get some time later today, and post a few tips for you.

Correct portals = gambling affiliate sites

Portals is similar to affiliate sites but I'd say it is slightly broader. Affiliate means a specific revenue model (based on performance) rather than other media-based revenue models such as a flat fee for specific coverage or other coverage-based models such as CPM.

In the gambling industry many people use affiliate site and portal interchangeably, even applying to webmasters who stick specifically to the media/publisher model rather than the affiliate model, but some people who use the media/publisher model don't identify with the term. Alex's company even recently opened up his conferences' promotional literature to clarify that their free admission applies to online publishers in general (rather than affiliates specifically), and I'm guessing it was for the same reason -- although often used as meaning the same thing, some people are a little more comfortable referring to themselves using the broader term.
