I think you need to put things in perspective, the man could not care less ; it is just a monthly thread to motivate others to post, in order to get fresh content / traffic for the GPWA sponsors that have paid for their listing.

As much as i'd love to be as cynical as you GCG - and i can see the self-motivated side of a program like this - i'm not going to turn my nose up at a freebie, especially for something i would have done anyway.
