Default Removing a page from a site

    Hi -

I have a page, slot game previews, that is of no use on my site and I want to remove. Are there any reasons to use 301 rather than simply delete the page. It has no backlinks pointing to it. And if I use 301 is there anything to be aware of - pitfalls, dangers? Or is it very simple.

    Thanks,
    Mark

It it was indexed, diverting even a single visitor that might just happen to see it in a search, could be a visitor that converts.

Or keep the page and send the outbound links somewhere else. If it is a closed or non existence game, place a small statement there why the outbound goes elsewhere.

If it already have some content there, instead of 301, you can place some internal links to pages you want to promote.

AussieCasinoHEX.com - Aussie Real Money Pokies Guide
CasinoHEX.at - Online Casino Guide in Austria
    NettiCasinoHEX.com - Finnish Gambling Portal

I recently encountered a similar problem. If you have a full-time programmer, I recommend to try Google indexing API.

Give the task to your programmer to write a small script that will help to index or delete pages a large number at a time.

Just to add what already been said, it's important to know if the page has generated any traffic, gained organic keywords for your site? Could it be used as cluster page? I've found it always better to re utilize a page than just delete it as it there is a probability, albeit small that i can affect your site.
