Default RESOLVED! -- GoldenStar Network re-ADDS Predatory Term - Retroactive

A retroactive change (as verified by our GSN contact) came through the TAS this morning. GSN was contacted as this was a term AGD had changed some time back (with Kerryn involved).

The term is NOW worse than it was originally. This term WILL be applied 'case by case' and WILL be used retroactively.

It is too bad that we worked so diligently with Kerryn to get this term improved ONLY to have it get worse with this revision (than it was originally).

My response to this nonsense, as posted on CAP:

----------------------------

Wow.

GSN and Vegas Partner -- what the **** are you thinking? These terms are highly predatory, and no affiliate in their right mind will bother with your program with such crap in place.

Affiliates -- I strongly suggest that you don't work with GSN and Vegas Partner anymore. If you do, then you're supporting their unfair, predatory practices. The revised terms are predatory, for sure, but the fact that they are also retroactive is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Frankly I'm surprised that Vegas Partner is doing something like this again. Didn't they learn anything in 2005 when they and a few others tried to implement retroactive T&Cs?

This is completely unethical -- you can't just steal our players if we don't send as many "new" players as you'd like.

It should not matter how many players I send -- if they are still making deposits, you WILL pay me a percentage of their losses until they stop making deposits. End of story. Anything less is a breach of contract.

If this matter isn't resolved by the end of the week, I will be blacklisting all GSN and Vegas Partner properties.

Wow is what first comes to my mind.

I have been dragging this group around for many many years, most of the time on my Dime!

I send them traffic which I have found is very hard to convert, I still send them traffic because their casinos are good.

This is like a kick in the teeth, this is NOT the sort of thing a RESPECTABLE group should be doing!

I am off to bed now due to a meeting with Goldenstar and Vegas Partner in the morning, they are calling a meeting and will be talking about ways to change this rule to the better, Kw and I have given them what we think would be acceptable and I hope they come to the same conclusion and just totally remove this unethical term!

Hello Everyone,

Following the conversation I had with Bonustreak yesterday, we called a meeting of both
groups this morning. What I can tell you now, is that the terms for both groups have been
revised and altered. Although I am unable to quote the exact term yet, our copywriters
are still adding the final touches.

Once I have the final draft of the new clause, I will post it here for everyone to view.

I really believe that the new clause works in the interests of both parties, and ultimately
will lead to the relationships being mutually beneficial.

Please understand that the previous clause on Vegas Partner dates back to 2004,
and having said I believe that as part of best business practice a company should
review it's terms and conditions on an annual basis, which we will be doing to
ensure that not only does it falls in line with company policy but that it protects
everyone's interests.

I would like to apologise for the alarm caused, and I would like to think that once
everyone has read the new clause we can put this unfortunate incident behind us
and focus on the future.

Thanks a lot kwblue for your efforts. It's really awful, I couldn't suspect that, I believed GSN were trusted but now I'm not sure. I have to disable all their casinos on my site. I loved their casinos...

Default NEW Term

Post deleted, I will repost the term once KWBlue has given the okay on the term.

My apologies but I was a bit hasty to get this in circulation. Please could everyone
that did receive the notification, refrain from posting it anywhere. I would like to
ensure that only the very final copy is re-posted here.

Thank you for your co-operation

We have received the proposed New Term and it is in the hands of our certification board for review. This can take some time as we all have to come up with an agreement to move forward.

Be patient, I can't imagine this one will take too long as it is not like a full set of terms.

Hi Everyone,

I would like to thank everyone that has been involved in the process
and for all of the feedback given in respect to this term.

It has been decided that as of today the term in its entirety will be
removed from both GSN and VPL terms and conditions.

We agreed that because both programs have not enforced it for 5 years,
there’s no point in starting now and it would be in everyone's interests if
we remove it altogether to avoid further frustrating our affiliates.

Thank you again for your feedback it is greatly appreciated.

Default GSN Terms Change

Hi guys

Thank you to Conrad, KWBlue and Bonustreak who have spearheaded these discussions as well as all of those that have given us their feedback. The Golden Star website has been updated with the removal of the offending term.

We would like to apologize for any concern these term changes may have caused.
