A Salute to ICEi, Breaking the ICE, and Fire and ICE

It's hard to believe that the ICEi expo was two weeks ago. It feels like just yesterday! And I'm still not caught up after all of the festivities in London.

The 2008 ICEi exhibition was the largest yet, with over 60 iGaming exhibitors. Virtually every aspect of the iGaming industry was represented from gaming juristictions, software providers, payment methods, trade publications, recruitment firms to affiliate programs, portal sites and every type of supplier imaginable.

The ICEi exhibition is part of a giant exhibition with hundreds of exhibitors that includes ICE (for the land casino industry) and ATEI (for the amusements industry). You can see a video with information about the shows at the link: www.ateonline.co.uk/104/967/.

Highlights of the week included two parties held during the ICEi show for the iGaming industry.

Tuesday night the Breaking the ICE party took place at Floridta, a Cuban-themed hotspot located in the heart of London's Soho district.

You can see my pictures of the ICEi Exhibition and the Breaking the ICE party on facebook at the following URL: www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=27074&id=796579828&ref=mf

Wednesday night the seventh annual Fire and ICE party was held at the Hippodrome - one of London's most exclusive venues. Now the Fire and ICE parties have always had a good reputation, but this year's party was truly one for the record books. Your's truly took nearly 200 photos at this event, and I've posted more than 80 of them on facebook. You really had to be there, but I think the photos capture some of the flavor of the party. How shall I put it? The party was simply delicious. I've posted a few of the photos below to help convince you it is worth looking at the complete set of on facebook.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Personally, I think there is nothing for me to say beyond what these photos show. I've uploaded so many pictures to facebook that it took two alblums to hold them all. Pleasant viewing:

Fire and ICE Party - Part 2

And ICEi, Breaking the ICE, and Fire and ICE was just the first half of an amazing week. Next week I'll have a roundup for CAP Euro, the ASOP poker tournament, and more! So stay tuned for even more reasons London was the place to be the week of January 21st!
