Hey guys. I just wanted to share some of the ways I save money each month and hope it helps other affiliates as well. Finding the cheapest solution for affiliates is important not only for new affiliates who are just starting out but for affiliates who are veterans and trying to cut some monthly costs.
Hosting: I use just host. HERE
if you want to give me a little credit or go to www.justhost.com if you dont.
I pay $7.95 per month and have access to a large number of free software such as wordpress, joomla, php forum and drupal just to name a few. All can be installed with a click of a button with no knowledge of html . php or other programming. Set up is simple and takes just a few minutes. I can have as many websites as I want and I only have to pay about 15 bucks the very first time I register it and after that its only $7.95. That's $7.95 for as many websites as you have with unlimited bandwith. 1 website cost $7.95 or 100m websites cost $7.95 which is excellent.
Website: I use Joomla and it's 100% free of advertising and doesn't cost affiliates a penny. Joomla can be installed with a click of a button when you are registered with justhost. If you become a justhost client and need a hand, just inbox me and I'll be glad to help.
What I have for free with Joomla: The following is what I have for free on my websites and doesn't cost me a cent. below are links to the programs.
Free newsletter: ( example is at top of the page on my nd site http://www.nodepositworld.com/ ) This program is called "Acymailing" and allows affiliates to gather subscribers for free and send out a monthly newsletter or weekly or whatever you choose. The link to it can be found here
Free Link exchange: I use a free link exchange program that allows affiliates to exchange links with other websites for free. It allows 2 way, 1 way and 3 ways links and organizes them automatically. Here is an example on my nd site: It takes all of 10 minutes to set up and you can even run a scan to make sure your link is found on your partners website.
Weblinks: Joomla also offers a link cloaker known as weblinks that will hide the affiliate code from visitors. Its as easy as entering the affiliate link from the back end of your site . This service is also free.
Other free services with Joomla: All of my sites are pretty basic and do the job they are suppose to but I did want to point out a few other free features that are available to Joomla users.
Facebook like buttons, instant twitter feeds, comment boxes, star rating system of articles, amazon shop like features, free forums, HTML editors, Image sliders and more.
Joomla offers thousands of free and paid extensions that can installed quickly with either version 1.5, 1.6 or 1.7 of Joomla. My personal experience is with Joomla 1.5. Although its a bit older it has no issues and has the most free extensions available.
Here is a complete listing of what is available: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions
I hope this saved some affiliates time and money because right now I'm sure all of us could use a little extra each month in our pockets. As a small affiliate I usually pull in about $1500 - $2000 a month and with a total of $7.95 to run all my sites each month I have a lot more money to buy the finer things in life.
