Default Scumware

I do not see the problem with Scumware. It is a very effective advertising tool and eventhough it is extremely invasive, It works! I do not see the problem with casinos trying to increase revenue. Companies like Gator and Whenu are the among the most successful companues on the net. More power to them

So you don't mind putting in all the hours of being a webmaster and developing a customer base for them to steal it from you, huh?

Hmmmmmm you think being successful by effectively stealing is OK????

You think that webmasters should waste hours of time working on their sites so some greedy so and so can come along and steal their revenues?

You support invasive advertising techniques and the interference with visitors freedom of choice???

:shake: :shake: :shake:

Default Scumware

No I do not LIKE invasive advertising; however, if you don't want to see these ads, just stop downloading these free p2p programs. Lets face it, these companies make too much money to stop doing it. I get a kick out of you guys who waste your time complaining about spyware. If you don't like them, don't download them.

Ok, you're missing the whole issue here.

The point is not that WE're seeing Gator; the point is that our VISITORS have adprograms on their computers - we can't stop that.

It is our VISITORS who are being stolen - not us. We webmasters are just a little more savvy than that.

and a whole lot of Spyware is downloaded WITHOUT the computer owners knowledge or consent. Can't you see the bigger picture here and how it affects YOU as a webmaster and YOUR revenues. You may "get a kick" out of people who complain about and actively fight Spyware but you seem to be ignoring the fact that your revenues are being stolen too?

go Pam and Sly

give him grief! Quite obviously he does not understand what is at stake here.
Potentially the bigger picture in the far future could be bad business altogether on the web for advertising, so we must fight now to prevent it from ever taking off!

The worst part of all of it is that there is no choice in the matter when people end up with spyware on their computers. I've tested it and there are way too automated installers which put bum spyware onto my computer.

Death to spyware and scumware users!
