Default SEO mozes White board Friday video on getting the most out your social network sites.

I cam across this video today from SEOmozes Randfish about how to get the most out of your social networking sites.
http://www.seomoz.org/blog/whiteboar...al-media-links
To sum it up, you have to hlep keep your profile out of the suplimentals by participating. That means getting some friends, voting on stuff, and content generation for the social site.

I thought it was interesting.

Traffic from Social networking sites seems to be getting more important as the days go by. Notice the recent talk and activity coming from the big 3 search engines towards the big social networking sites like linkedin and facebook.

I have been catching all of those SEOMoz whiteboard sessions and they have been great. There are some fantastic SEO resources out there right now. Just a shame our industry is so competitive!

I took another site to number 2 in Google in around 3 months for the chosen keywords. There was a load of competition but the industry is more automotive and virtually all the other sites had no idea when it came to SEO.

Although this is one of the hardest, the skills you learn really help if you diversify!

Interesting attempting to monopolize in a free market never works.

Quote:
“Now that Facebook, despite trying hard, has not been successful in the German market, the company seeks to obstruct studiVZ through court action,” said Marcus Riecke, CEO of studiVZ. “Their strategy appears to be: If you can’t beat them, sue them.”
Added Riecke: “There are numerous social networks. Facebook was not the first and certainly isn’t the only one. By attempting to harm studiVZ through a meritless California lawsuit, Facebook is arrogantly laying claim to an international monopoly over social networking sites that the facts show it does not deserve.”
