A second review of my site (pretty) please......

I've been hard at work since you first reviewed my site some time back. I'm still having flavicon issues and I'm working on a new-and-improved header (I'm not a web designer/ programmer.)

I have lots of new content and I'm working on more reviews/recommendations for my readers.

Any new feedback will be MUCH appreciated.

Just had a look at your site and it looks good. That said, I'll add a bit more content such as giving a brief overview about your site, and maybe slot in a table of your top 5 bingo sites with a short description about each.

    Good luck!

    Hi Lucky Bob,

It’s looking good. I like the fact that you also added payment solutions reviews and that your Bingo site’s reviews are pretty detailed.

All the best with the site!

A couple of tips in regards to the Aesthetics of the site, there are a lot of "sqaure" images boxes make sure that you use a .png if you want a transparent background, that should give the site more of a "flow".

Bingo's generally players are middleaged-later women, and I'm not sure that the "hot!" woman as the banner image is the right image for your site.

There is a lot of empty space on the site, I'm all for minimalism, but it just looks like empty space for me.

The font looks very standard, have you looked at tweaking this to something different, cyberspace is about standing from your competitors and to me it as a very samey feel.

The content on the site is very good, which is what users will want, but you need to persaude them to stay their long enough!

N.B I'm new to the game, not a big earner, these are just my honest thoughts, with very little experience to back them up

Great suggestions cass. Thank you. I keep trying different layouts ie. with & with out a site blurb on the Home page. I have a "top sites" table but I should add some more info there.
    Thanks.

Thanks Maria. There are endless content "needs" for bingo. I thought payment options would be good. I need to expand on that....more content!

    Thanks.

    Voids,
    Thanks for your detailed review.
My weakness in terms of expertise is definitely programming & design so I really appreciate your comments.

    - My "Hot" header image. LOL. I'm working on that. It was a fun filler so I could get the site online and indexed etc. I plan to change it something a little more in-line with online bingo - I just meant to have it replaced by now.

    - White space: The damn fine line between minimalism and too much white space!

    - Fonts: It's really high on my list of things to improve. I will likely be playing with the CSS and fonts today.

    Again thanks for comments.

If you design your site in HTML I feel for you as I do the same, I've always seen notepad as redundent on PC's however, I can't imagine life without it right now! I love the freedom HTML gives you, but it gives with one hand and take's away with the the other, as the CMS is whatever you make it.

The problem with designing your own site & style is that you're never 100% happy everyday I come home I spend 4-6 hours on my site, tweaking, changing adding. Asking myself, is that colour right? should that font be one size bigger? It's a bit of an obsession for me atm.

The most annoying thing is having the whole site built in my head, but only slowly being able to convert this into actual material! Alas! we must keep going!

I've been designing the Casino, Poker & Bingo aspects offline whilst the design is finished on these, the content isn't. It's all about time, and there just isn't enough hours in the day sometimes!

In regards to the white space, try using pastel colours to distract the eye.

    Voids,
I have virtually (no pun intended) ZERO HTML knowledge. I'm learning as I go. I'm using Joomla with templates and plug-ins and the Joomla forums for help with tweaking and features.
I decided to focus mostly on content and now that I have a half decent base I'm trying to turn some of my attention to all these details.

    Thanks again.

    Hey Bob!

I've made a few suggestions below based on my experience of what converts and layouts:

    1. As Cass said, a table would be great at the top. It provides users a clear call to action if they ever want to skip the content and play. The reason I love tables is that a small one rarely seems promotional/spammy like a collection of banners could. When looking through analytics I can see that most outbound links go through tables.

    2. You have 3 navigation sections of varying importance, top, left and right. Although this could work with some colour breaks of some sort, without it kind of makes me wonder what I should be looking at. As I always say, imagine your dad navigating the website (assuming he is as un-tech as mine ), if you treat your users like they need as much guidance as possible to navigate then you can't go wrong.

    3. The mailing list registration form at the bottom seems a little lost - any reason this isn't in the sidebar? It would fit perfectly.

    4. I like the logos/banners at the bottom idea, but none of them have a clear call to action. They shouldn't be in the users face, but having a clear 'Click here' is essential IMO.

Overall a nice site, hope it brings you some luck < / bad joke >

    Cheers,
    Dave

Hi Dave. Thanks for your review and thoughts.

    1. I'll be working on tables. Great idea. It makes sense to me to display various offerings in tables. (I'm so new, it hadn't occurred to me.)

    2. I'll be working on color breaks too. You're very right: Hard to know where to look. I'll try out a few styles in-line with the new logo/header.

    3. The mailing/registration module IS lost. I had it in the left column but it was interfering with "The Twitter Machine" module so I parked it there for now. It did look much better in the left and right columns. I will be moving it soon.

    4. Clear calls to action. That's kinda key I guess isn't it? About a month ago you'd barely find a call to action anywhere on the site. I have been looking at a lot of other sites and I'll make the calls a little more obvious.

Thanks again Dave - much appreciated.

    Hey Lucky Bob

I review your website and it looks great ! Very informative
But it seems like you have 2 homepages which can mean double content and Google doesn't like it . Add /# at the end of the URL and it seems like its the same homepage . If I'm right you should check it out
And I believe you need a site map as well . Google loves site-map !

    Hope I helped !

    Hi Jenny.
Thanks for looking at my site.
I'll have to figure out why/how I have two homepages. I don't to upset Uncle Google....
I have been having issues with site map and I thought it was working OK. I'm glad you noticed these things - I'll have a look.

    Cheers and thanks.

    Bob
