Default Skrill & Neteller won't be issuing Mastercards anymore?

    1. My Skrill card is expiring and "due to internal business decision" it won't be renewed automatically but I'm "free to order a new one when this one expires". I have a feeling the request will be declined.

    2. I got an ugly email from Neteller accusing me of promoting their Net+ card and I'm "not allowed to do that". I thought it was strange at the time but apparently they really are trying to distance themselves from Mastercard.

    3. Skrill don't seem to be advertising their Mastercard too much on the site these days. No banners with it. There are even very few support articles for "skrill card". Sounds like they're getting rid of it.

Skrill and Neteller are owned by Paysafecard, they're making many radical business moves such as changing the affiliate programs, and I have a feeling we'll see the removal of plastic cards very soon. And that it won't be the last move in what is a new business direction for these brands. I will personally be transfering the money elsewhere before the end of the month because I don't want it to get stuck.

What do you guys think? Just a strange coincidence?

The reason obviously is, that they have a new Skrill Card:

    Addendum

"Skrill recently announced that a new card is coming, which will step by step replace all old cards once they expire. Clients without a MasterCard will receive their new contactless Skrill MasterCard from now on. [...] All clients who order a new MasterCard now, or clients with an old card that expire from now on, will receive the new card. If your card is about to expire and you did not receive any information about a new card yet, please contact Skrill so that they can manually order a new card for you."

    Good for them.

They need to work on their communication with customers. Saying "we won't renew your card because of an internal business decision" when in reality they got a (probably more advanced) product for that same money-spending customer who has lots of money on his account and is also an affiliate is a bit moronic.

Plus I don't have a guarantee I'll actually get the card. I was told I'm free to apply.

This is money we're talking about. So I stick with my original plan to withdraw all of it, and will only start using Skrill again once I have the new card in my hand. I wasn't informed of the new card via newsletter like Leopold was, and my card is expiring in September (his in October).

P.S. Contactless will only be available only to UK, Bulgaria, Poland, France, Italy and Germany.

Yet the Croatian won't get a new one due to an internal business decision.

Ok I think it's obvious what's going on - thanks everyone for the input.

If they told this to you, they lie. Got email about replacement too and Iam not from those countries.

Few years ago their card was probably one of the best. Their fx rate used was beating even Caxton FX card. I used only their card abroad. Now they not only raised the visible fees, that do not matter that much. But they raised the debit card fx rate, so they are completely unusable.

I received an e-mail from Skrill telling me to expect a new, contactless card, which would replace my existing card.

I then received an e-mail from Skrill telling me to ignore their previous e-mail, because I'm not in one of the eligible countries.

Skrill then e-mailed me to tell me the new card is in the post.

    So wtf.

They're free to focus on top markets only. I'm also free to move my money elsewhere, which I already did. Nothing lost.

But I'll definitely lose money as an affiliate if they stop offering the Mastercard to my visitors, which is likely. Skrill is useless without the card.

I don't think they are leaving the market Dan, and also they might come back later to Croatian market with prepaid Mastercard.

I don't like Skrill, but sometimes as an affiliate I left without any choices. Some affiliate companies in binary options have Wire Transfer from $3000, and it's not very convenient, so you have to choose between some of the eWallets, and Skrill is still the best taking into account their **** customer service and growing fees.

    Question Confusing

Skrill clearly has lots to do to improve their CSR...

My story: I received a new Skrill Mastercard in July, because the old one expired. All good, although they did not announce me; I mean at least send me an email so I know ~ when to expect it.

Now's the funny part: a couple of days ago I received not one, but two automated emails from Skrill, both in the same day, one in my native language and the other one in English.
My... native email announced me that my new MasterCard Skrill is already on its way and I should receive it within 2 weeks.
Then comes the English mail message, sent at ~ the same time with the first mail. This one was to let me know that in just a week's time, my new Skrill Prepaid MasterCard will be sent to my address.

I know... I called them, and one of their support reps tells me they're replacing ALL Skrill MasterCards, regardless the date they were issued. The reason? Switching to a different MasterCard issuer. The card I currently used is issued by Wirecard, and I believe I heard her mentioning Paysafecard as the new issuer (not sure if my English was at fault here, or the CSR's...).
And no, I won't be getting a Contactless Card, my country is not on the list with the few select countries. No biggie, I wasn't planning to use that feature anyway.

So no, I don't think Skrill will stop sending MasterCard, I think (or hope, at least) it's just a matter of changing issuers.

Maybe there are members that already received their new (contactless or not) Skrill MasterCards; I think they could shed some light.

Oh, and don't forget that Skrill is having another "commissions adjustment" in ~ 3 weeks from now.

I've received a notice today that my new Skrill MasterCard is on the way, while they also informed me several times in the past few weeks that the new card would be sent in September. A bit surprised that they are sending it to Serbia

I received a new card in the post yesterday, no mention of it being contactless (good - don't want one) as I'm not in one of the qualifying countries.

I assume I can bin my old card once I activate the new one - haven't really been given any guidance from Skrill on how to handle that.

My new card has arrived, but I cannot seem to activate it, only the old card is shown in my Skrill account. The old one appears to be working just fine though, so I have no idea what they are doing. Skrill seems to have lost the plot.

    Hello Juan,

You have to go in your Skrill account and go to "My Card", you click on it, and you put your new numbers.
This will give you the Pin code.

After to activate it, you must go to withdraw money.
