Snipping Tool

Hey guys

Not sure if this is the place for this one, so if not, Admin please move

We have come across a tool in Vista that will be VERY useful called the "Snipping Tool"

You can find it under Start > All Programs > Accessories > Snipping Tool

Basically it lets you select the part of the screen you want to capture, then lets you save it as an image. This means no more cropping and fiddling.

Once you have selected the area you want to catch, you can then draw on it

Good for the person who isn't able to use programs like Photoshop but want to take accurate screen shots of stuff

This is a tool I use all the time you can do as above get hex colors and check sizes its a great little program and its free.

Actually one of the girls in the office found it. Not sure what she was doing when she found it.

How cool is that?!!! I love it, thanks for sharing. I do screen shots and have to crop, re-size, edit all the time, this will save several steps. No need to open paint and save it then open xxx and edit, what a time saver!

I use vista but never noticed the tool, but looks cool.

That is a great tool for sure. I normally used MS OneNote for taking screenshots until I installed IE8 a few weeks ago.

Another awesome tool is the IE8 Accelerator technology. Here is a description of how it works:

Accelerators are a new feature in Internet Explorer 8 that help you do routine tasks like searching, email, blogging, etc. right from the contextual menu of your IE 8 browser.

For instance, you can select an address on a web page, right click and preview the location directly on a pop-up map without having to copy-paste that address on a separate mapping website. Check the Internet Explorer Gallery for a list of useful Accelerators that you may add to your IE 8 browser.
