Default Stolen content

We seem to be going through a very bad patch. My worry is that in some cases, google has dropped our pages where the content has been stolen from and no the thief ranks.

For example:
xxxwww.chooseagame.com/

Stole the paragraph for 888.com on his home page from our 888 review

We used to be page 1 for a number of variants of 888. Now he is!

Anyone seen this happen before?

Is there a "thieves list" somewhere? That way we can track thieves, and any other open cases with them. I am getting tired of this and we need to fight it together. Any ideas? It can be a simple furm, with the URL as the subject, and progress reports, email addresses found etc. It would need to be moderated I guess.

Have you tried emailing the administrative contact? This guy isn't hiding his identity or anything. You could email his registrar and/or hosting if you can prove he is stealing your content. It doesn't appear like this guy is a professional scraper - those guys have private or proxy domain registrations.

Administrative Contact:

And I wont give you a hard time for promoting 888 :P They pissed me off years ago and I have been telling people to avoid them since.

I would inform him that he has stolen your content than inform him that he has 24 hours to do the right thing and remove it before proceeding to cntact his affiliate or hosting provider. Make him aware that these ar ethe next steps that will be taken if he keeps it there. This way you are giving him the oppurtunity to make ammends professionally. If he chooses to ignore than that's his fault. The AM's at 888 from my understanding do not tolerate content theft.

You are joking of course?

888.con have the biggest group of blackhatters and site scrapers working directly for them.

Don't tolerate it?
THEY ACTIVELY ENCOURAGE IT !

K: listen to the seasoned vets. they usually will save you a lot of loss and pain.

G: and M: and you can add me to the list .... will tell you to avoid 888.

instead of telling you why on this point.... i will instead suggest that you "search" any program you consider listing and if you see more than one or two vets saying this place sucks...... best to leave them off your sites.

just trying to save you some frustration and probably some money. I know its tough getting started and knowing who to trust is one of the hardest things to figure out. everybody has their own agenda. but if you read several threads with complaints about .... late payments, no pay. ... players not showing up etc .... take the hint and move on. you really don't need a huge variety of sponsors...... instead you need a handful that you can trust to treat you right. hope that helps.

I personally dropped 888 when I tried to set up a money added tournament. No kidding it took 8 emails to my AM, 2 emails to her boss and rep for a forum and last but not least a phone call x2 between myself and my AM. This was in the time span of 2 weeks. I asked them for a money added instead of a freeroll and it screwed the hell right out of them. My thinking is if it takes this much hassell to get a game done what's it going to be like if a conflict ever arises?
