    Stolen Data

    Guys

Just thought I would bring this up, people need to stop buy this crap, stop the need and the data will be safe.

The following is a conversation that just happned on skype:

[2:31:16 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): Casino and poker lists of real money players and signups for sale - various platforms; US or non US with email, phone, postal address.

Contact me by skype or email (Edited: gmail address removed)
[2:32:00 PM] Shaun O'Neill: from which sites did you get the players from
[2:32:34 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): Here are numbers of real money players, US and non US together:
    PartyPoker 223k
Swiss, Las Vegas, 50 slots, Magic Box (Playtech casino) 140k
ClubDice, MonacoGold, Carneval (Playtech casino) 150
NoblePoker & Fair poker (Playtech poker) 91k
    Full Tilt poker 910k
    All Slots (Microgaming casino) 450k
    All Slots (Microgaming poker) 254k
    CasinoOnNet 200k
    InterCasino (Cryptologic casino) 1.650k (1,65M)
    PokerRoom (NEW!) 430k
[2:32:58 PM] Shaun O'Neill: and what cost?
[2:33:34 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed):
Price depends of the list that you order. You can create custom list that you need.

    To get picture:
    casino 100k real money players from the best lists for about $4500, 100k signups for $1000;
poker 100k real money players from the best lists for about $3000, 100k signups for $700.

But price can be negotiated if you buy bigger portion of the list.
    casino 1M real money players from the best lists for about $30000 ($30k), 1M signups for $7500 ($7.5k);
poker 1M real money players from the best lists for about $20000 ($20k), 1M signups for $4000 ($4k).
[2:34:13 PM] Shaun O'Neill: those prices are very high
[2:34:22 PM] Shaun O'Neill: i am sure you hav esold the data about 10 times over
[2:34:34 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): Ok, what price do you expect?
[2:34:48 PM] Shaun O'Neill: a better one than that
[2:34:57 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): like?
[2:35:16 PM] Shaun O'Neill: thats way to high its stolen data
[2:35:45 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): Yes, lists are illicitly acquired
[2:35:54 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): Quality of the list lies in details which list contains. TMy best lists have deposit and net details which makes them perfect for direct access to the best players. One single player on long run may pay off your investment made in buying list. No need to mention cost reduction on spam, CDs, etc.
[2:36:31 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): Which list do you like?
[2:37:07 PM] Shaun O'Neill: i would max 10k for the lot
[2:37:42 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): what does it mean?
[2:37:44 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): the lot?
[2:37:55 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): every list
[2:38:28 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): Do you have any list from my list above?
[2:48:13 PM] Shaun O'Neill: no i have never bought stolen data
[2:48:20 PM] Shaun O'Neill: by the way how did you get my info?
[2:48:47 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): Your info is everywhere
[2:48:53 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): email, name, skype, ...
[2:48:57 PM] Shaun O'Neill: what do you mean
[2:49:20 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): http://www.igamingsuppliers.com/
    http://www.gpwa.org/
[2:49:24 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): http://www.pokeraffiliatelistings.com/forums/
    http://www.ipokeraffiliate.com/

    http://www.casinomeister.com/forums/showgroups.php
    [2:49:38 PM] Shaun O'Neill: okay
[2:49:44 PM] Shaun O'Neill: so cani ask who you are
[2:49:56 PM] Shaun O'Neill: if i am going to do business with you I need to know that
[2:50:04 PM] Shaun O'Neill: you know me
[2:50:11 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): My name doesn't mean anything to you
[2:50:26 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): and has nothing with our business
    [2:50:36 PM] Shaun O'Neill: i dont agree
[2:50:37 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): and I don't know you
[2:50:44 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): you are just skype account to spam to me
[2:50:46 PM] Shaun O'Neill: well you do you have just my name is everywhere
[2:51:39 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): If you don't work with 'stolen' data I cannot offer you anything.
[2:51:49 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): All my lists are obtained that way.
[2:52:08 PM] Shaun O'Neill: well then you are scum
[2:52:16 PM] (Edited: skyppe name removed): Thanks, buy

Little time to comment fully my workload is huge. In situations like this something has to be said. Some others and I strictly been against such practice, hoping some step in and make things right.

IMO such practice is illegal and disgusting. Player’s private information should never be on the auctioning block sold to the highest bidder. Despite the obvious reasons, I will add, identity theft, spam email, empty bank accounts, etc… It can destroy lives.

To make matter worse the claim “stolen data” so already the wheels are in motion to peruse something destructive. Is this the norm players expect partaking with gambling online?

In any case thank you Shaun for bringing this to our attention. If it were me I would have screwed piled this MF. Send him back to 10,000 B.C he would get along fine with the Cro-Magnon People.

    Disgusting

    Guys

    This can be stopped.

Cut the demand do not buy stolen data if people stopped buying it the market supply ends.

I think people like this should be shown in public and named.

No matter what, it will never end. How much postal mail goes in the trash daily? How many offers do you get that way? That is as much spam as the internet spam that grows mighty every day.

Pisses me off to have this happen, but the spammers will never stop buying lists that have been sold more times than a 1965 Chevy. We as a group of reputable marketers can say no but I wager to guess that for each of us that says no, there are 10 that say yes and haggle a purchase.

Shaun-- lol on the midget porn sign ups

Thanks Shaun for bringing this to everyone's attention, and I want to echo your advice that lowering the demand is very important in helping eliminate the problem. Crime doesn't pay without a buyer.

As GPWA policy is very clear here with a strong stance to prevent the forum from being an aid in database sales, I've edited the initial post and one subsequent post in the thread to remove contact details of the thief.

People who buy lists like that get scammed a lot themselves. There is no way to verify the list until after you use it, it may be donkey's years old and useless.

    its a SCAM.

If this jerk could steal player info from all those casino groups he could just steal money instead... and save himself the trouble of having to sell 'stolen' data.

He is also letting you 'know' without any doubt that the data is stolen, so when you find the data is totally bogus and you got ripped off, you won't say anything to anybody.

Good point lotso. To me whoever buys these are just as guilty as the sellers. They better just hope they don't get caught. Their name will be ruined for a very very long time to come.

Just a little insight. This happens far more then you will ever know.

A while back a similar event like this happened BUT one of the casinos effected decided to sue. A significant sum, 8 figures. Yes, sue the data thief.

Name,, address, username, credit card numbers, deposit and withdrawl history, everything on record was stolen and sold.

I was brought in and 'certified' by the court as an expert witness in the online gaming field

Over 6 hours of hostile depostion. Not fun. Even

Long story short there was an out of court settlement.

The 'surprise' was in how they got the data. They got it from a data center tech. You know, one of all those underpaid even remotely located in an impoverished third world country people that have root access to most every server in the dc. The guy you call when your site is down. Yup them.

Very easy to burn a cd or now a flash drive with all the data with no one ever knowing and sell it off. Well one of them had a friend who was one of those 'master affiliates' and they worked out a deal for a % of various gaming sites data to be slowly copied and sold off. Most in 50-100K lists.

No data is safe when the barn is open. Someday we will see bonded data centers but not until millions of peoples information is stolen.

This is a scam to get your cash!

If you really had the lists, you would use them yourself and try to market the casinos/poker sites. Of course, if you had spammed them to dealt then you might consider selling them on.

    Worthless trash!!

    Rogue Affiliates and Casino Employees

I have previously worked at a casino before I started doing outsourced SEO work for casinos.

All the hard work that we are doing to send players legitematly to a casino gets waisted when a list gets stolen. (It impacts everyone involved except the Rogue Affiliate - even the casino who buy the list will likely loose in the long run because the money paid to the rogue affiliate is used, to bribe the marketer to give the casino list to the Rogue Affiliate!)

Problems that I have identified making it easy for people to obtain such data:
    1. The Casino Employees have access to information which should be confidential or worked through a system where the affiliate managers / support personel cannot see the details of a player - "like a cms that controls all correspondence, never showing email"
    2. Casino Employees can see which players are VIP and Valuable players - So they can steal 1 player per day = 30 per month, can be a good business for affiliates.
    3. Some affiliates make contact with the "Marketing People" working at the casinos, and these "marketing people" sometimes earn ridiculous salaries, and the Affiliate will simply bribe the "Employee" for players.
    4. The list is "Bogus" but the Rogue Affiliate will say to the casino they will do a test run - Then the affiliate himself will get him and his (corrupt) team to make a few small deposits and some big deposits and the casino would be fooled into beleiving the affiliate have a quality list - so the list will be sold for $10 000.00 from which the affiliate will deposit $3 000.00 into the casino from his own account and will tell the "potential" client that he only did a test on 500 players in the list...
We get approached on a monthly basis by employees from the casinos that we work with, or had work with...

To help them with their sites (SEO) trying to bribe a deal with a list from the casino!

I agree somehow the industry should clean itself! Casinos go Rogue because of these practices - and some feel closing the affiliate side of their business is a way to clean it up! "Some casinos think that all affiliates are scum, because of these practices!)
