    Default A take-down of Newsweek's U.S. online gaming story

If you haven't yet read Newsweek's terrible feature about online gaming in the U.S., How Washington Opened the Floodgates to Online Poker, Dealing Parents a Bad Hand, do so now.

But then -- and more importantly -- please read Chris Grove's take-down of the article over at Online Poker Report. Grove lists 11 serious problems with Newsweek's piece, and they are all justified.

The Newsweek article, though incredibly biased, does actually contain some interesting information, specifically regarding the U.S. Department of Justice's re-interpretation of the Wire Act. The article raises some interesting questions about the power of bureaucracy to change laws in the middle of the night with no input from Congress. Whether the outcomes pertain to online gaming or not, that is an important discussion to have.

But beyond that, the entire piece sounds like it was written by a Sheldon Adelson lackey.
