Default Threads Disappearing

Hi All,

I noticed that some of the older threads here are disappearing. Is there a way to keep them here so that everyone remembers who these people/web sites are and also so that we can check-up on them every once in a while. That way it could be a deterrant for those new to the industry that are considering taking other webmasters material. We refer many copycat to this particular area. And its also good for our Affiliate Managers to see who has done what. Just a thought.

Many Thanks,

Yep there is a way, all John needs to do is change the display options of this forum so it shows threads from the beginning and not the last month.

Hi CasinoPortal,

I don't think management has seen your post yet. Hopefully they will see it in the next few days otherwise in April, there will be nothing to see here.

Default Content Thieves

I found out by pure accident that someone copied a lot of content and even the design motif from one of my old sites. (Thanks to xwww.Archive.org in part.) So, I will wait until April to make this public because I don't want the posting to disappear, since I found out that this person is a GPWA member.

I'll fix these forums so that the threads always show here in a few minutes

Hi John,

Great! I am glad you are looking into this. I wanted to e-mail you directly but I was not sure if you were still under-the-weather.

By the way, it looks like there's more activity in the GPWA forums.

Kind Regards,

Denise

Default Deleting Old Threads

No! I say get rid of the older threads! This will make the newer threads more exciting in that people will know their reply won't be around for ever. For example: someone that thinks their reply will stay up forever will see the thread as one with eventually 1000s of answers demoting the strength of their response. When I respond to a thread knowing it will be deleted, I am more attentive to my ideas and suggestions to help serve the other webmasters. My reply in shorter lasting threads is one that more webmasters will remember on that subject vs. a longer thread.

Getting rid of threads at a forum like this one would NEVER be a good idea.

The amount of powerful information contained in these old threads is unbelievable. It might take a person days (often weeks) to read through and absorb this stuff, but even outdated as some of them may be, there is litterally YEARS of webmaster training here.

No other forum in existence has the resources available that this place has concerning this industry....NONE!

Hey Universal4,

I wish this person would stop reviving old threads. It's a bit confusing.

We don't want to delete ANYTHING. This forum is a mine of information and I'm very resistant to the idea of ameliorating its importance.

Ntaus, I PMed matthew yeseterday after several of messages where the response seemed to indicate not knowing the time/date stamp was available for each post. I pointed out where it is located (since I'm mentioning it, top left-hand side of each post) and he responded with a thank you and a note that he'll start paying attention to it.

The responses to older posts seem to have faded since that exchange.

I definately agree that it is helpful to keep the information here available irrespective of when it was brought up.
