    Default Traffic from PTC sites

    Hi,

I'm seeing a load of traffic coming from these type of sites:

    1dollaradz.com
    rotate4refs.com
    2buckclix.com
    adverzclix.com
    highpayclix.com

They are spammy pay-to-click sites that claim to pay people $1 to view and/or click ads.

Anyone have any opinions/views on why someone might be paying to send traffic from these sites? Could be an attempt at negative SEO or maybe a lazy attempt by one of our affiliates to try and inflate traffic. Its not an issue really because I can quite easily block the traffic and/or exclude it from our data, but just keen to get some more opinions.

Just guessing: they are scamming people with promise to pay them for clicking, so the people click. But most of the people who click, are bots, with which the people that are being scammed try to scam the scammers.

Yeah I assumed that it was bot traffic or click farms (99.9% of it comes from India, 0% conversions). I just wondered what someone would have to gain from (presumably) paying for the the traffic.

I have no idea how, but for sure someone is making money with that. Maybe the scammer who is buying the "traffic" is also selling the bots. Or giving them for free stuffed with malware or altcoin miners or something like that. I do not understand this world either

I used to think that these were affiliates trying to scam CPL deals and perhaps they do. However, I realized that some are actually using these type of sources to pickup depositing players. Logic is that the person might make $1/hr clicking the ads and might actually make a deposit every once in awhile. Sounds ridiculous but seems to be their strategy.

If you are seeing that referral traffic then so is Google. Could it be that a competitor has added your site for the paid traffic in order to make it look like you are trying to improve rankings by paying for traffic?

I may be way off but its a thought?

That's actually a pretty interesting thought. I imagine the kind of person clicking links for cents would also claim free spins, it's just whether they convert in the long run.

That is possible. It wouldn't surprise me.

It seems to be the "make money online" offers. Like the roulette bots, fake news stories, how to beat the casino, become a millionaire, etc

thats bad fake traffic, goolge will punish your site when you receive this traffic. Sometimes a competitor started this traffic to damage you / your google ranking and traffic. Block this traffic!

at first, sorry for my bad english, i came from Germany... the traffic from PTC Sites like above is low quality traffic with a bad or no conversation rate. The users from this traffic are between 10 and 20 seconds on your site and doe nothing, no clicks on your site, no scrolling.. nothing. Your Website bounce rate will increase to more than 90 % and google get this and you website should become a google penalty. PTC Traffic is poison for all websites.. this is no organic and no PPC traffic and google noted that... sure, the traffic is cheap but you have nothing from the traffic and only trouble

Sorry mein Lieber, but thats nonsense. Old wives' tale! Google isnīt stupid and some cheap traffic canīt hurt a good website. Same about "Bad SEO" and thousand of backlinks from bad neighborhood with really bad ass anchors. You can find a lot of plugins to form a healthy looking bounce rate (if needed) and you can disavow bad backlink. Donīt care about this!

Lot-s of concrete evidence then? You can do nothing and drop 10 places, but my guess is that you dropped 10 places because you are reading 1997 SEO articles
