Web 2.0 (as it stands at the moment) - facebook, blogging, social networking, digg etc etc etc is a a whole pile of 'Emperor's New Clothes'.
There, I said it......... I'm a heretic......
From a marketing/traffic generating point of view, it's just a load of bollox and of no real use as a marketing tool. It's a waste of time and a stupid fad.
Show me someone who has had REAL (pounds, shillings and pence - or dollars and cents to our cousins ) benefit from it........
i gotta tell ya that it worked out for me, i did a campaign with one of the famous facebook's application owner and we got alot of real money players.
and im pretty sure the application owner was happy when he got his first payment hehehe
I stand corrected then. I don't hear too many stories about affiliates who actually get to monetize social networks. Also, I think that certain niches really lend themselves to social networking. I suspect that poker and bingo are ideal due to the fact that they are more socially orientated.

the social networks are getting bigger and bigger but if you ask me as they grow bigger, people will get fed up with the spam and private messages etc just like previous method, perhaps building targeted groups and social network communities will somehow make the difference
