That's a damn shame. Pity you choose to be associated with people who even the AFFILIATE industry has seen in its true colours after the Grand Privè incident. The players saw it a long time back.

Still, better late than never.

I'm looking for information on eCOGRA's claim - as I understand it - to have no influence or interest in the Grand Privè incident. I know they've stated along these lines, as I spoke to Todd about it in Budapest. I may come across it as I search further, but if anyone in the meantime has a link or a verifiable quote from a communication from them, that would be handy.

Well technically Ecogra can say there is a seperation

However the fact is they do have influence and have chosen not to use it and stated that they dont certify based on affiliate programs actions etc.

But when the affiliate programs tried to set up their own cabal ecogra quickly threw its hat in to the ring to try and be involved as some sort of overseeing body.

Therefore when they choose they are prepared to become involved in affiliate business, just not when its morally right.

Also consider this, they act for players via their certification, they wanted to represent affiliate programs, but at no stage will they stand up for affiliates.

They will act for any sector it seems except affiliates

There is an issue of unfair expectations from eCogra.

eCogra's affiliate seal of trust is primarily aimed at giving the affiliates and the operator assurance that the affiliate system behind the affiliate program has adequate security protocols and procedures , provides accurate reporting, coincides with the programs terms and conditions, ensures data and reporting can’t be manipulated, etc.

eCogra’s position isn’t to arbitrate between program and its affiliates, i.e. they don’t focus on the legal aspects of whether or not a program can or can’t change its terms and conditions with existing affiliates.

This is, in almost every case, a business issue where the affiliate communities can do great service to their affiliate members in assisting affiliates to negotiate as one with the program.

You are indeed correct in regards to their affiliate seal, the reaction is to their "other" seals.

It just seems a little hypocritical of Ecogra to have on one hand an approved affiliate seal while on the other hand have operators that have been rogued by the affiliate community.

But you know what that is not your fault and it was unfair of me to post in this thread an attack on Ecogra when i could have just opened up another thread to do that very thing.

I have my personal opinion of Ecogra but that does not mean i should have put a negative post in here and for that i do apologise.

Congratulations on any seal that you earn because i am sure there is a criteria that you must undergo to attain that seal/certification.

I wish you luck and from what others say you are indeed a very good program and deserve credit.

Re Ecogra welll i guess they had to add a legit operator at some point - how much are they paying Brightshare to be a part of the affiliate section ? lol
