    Default What Casino game?????????????

    Hi,

If you were starting a new portal dedicated to only one game which game would you choose and why, (in terms of making money) (can be new domain, or just a new section of your current website.

Bare in mind such factors as:

    High casino edge,
Very popular casino game, so large number of players will play it.
Alot of content can be made so could possibly get hits from search engines for wide range of terms.

    (please mention other key factors)

How might you rank these games in terms of overal profitability
    baccarat
    bingo
    blackjack
    craps
    poker (v dealer)
    poker ( v players)
    roulette
    slots
    video poker
    other (if so what)

    thanks

i think poker (versus players) is probably the biggest market for any one game. if you have the traffic the money potential is huge wiuth poker. i have never done great with it, but i have never had huge poker traffic. i know of people with poker traffic that do very, very well.

I think Big Fish is correct about poker (Texas Holdem) as the most popular single game. Although poker is usually taken to mean a variety of poker games. It does take a lot of work to compete in the arena though. Casino City, with all of our resources, is just starting in this area with our www.pokerzone.com website. Right now our real content on this site is one of the best poker dictionaries on the web, and real-time statistics about poker play currently taking place on the web. However, while we are gathering a lot of real-time information on the back-end, we still have several months of work before the information we are gathing is truly visible and taken advantage of on the site itself.

In terms of slots, I view that as being a huge area, but would separate it into slots with progressive jackpots and other slots. In addition to poker, our future development projects that are game-specific are focused on slots.

I think the poker market is too competitive right now, especially for a new site.

I agree with the slots - but I'd be very specific with a themed website, especially to start. Something like penny slots or progressive slots.

My favorite land based casino game is craps. And it is also one of the least understood games from a newbie's perspective. Huge opportunity to break into this market. HOWEVER - playing craps online completely loses me - the whole fun of the game is the community atmosphere the players have, rooting for each other and avoiding the various bits of "bad luck" phrases and actions. Roulette is another game which is better played with a group atmosphere, imho.

All that said, blackjack is a huge market. It is a very popular game and very well understood. I suspect many land based casino dwellers looking to make the leap to online gaming know blackjack and want to find the best places to play. Odds can vary greatly from casino to casino (as rules change, shoe size changes, and minimum/maximum bets vary).

I'm about to jump big time into the Bingo Market. I feel that is a highly untapped resource. But let me test the waters first, and I'll report back

If you are looking to push a game with a high casino edge - look at Keno. Keno is about he worst game for a player, yet is very much like lotteries which are popular worldwide. Most casinos are pretty standard on the game, with minimum bets as low as 1 cent. No one in the history of keno has ever hit 20 of 20 numbers (or so I've read in a few places).

    Hope that helps!

I thought poker income was low because of rakeback so basically you wouldnt make much money unless you were offering rakeback deals etc.

Is that what you mean when you say make money with poker?

Also if poker versus players is your first choice, what then is your second (as I wasnt expecting poker v players to be first choice),

What would be your 2 most profitable casino games?

    Based on demographics.

Now that USA is not feasable, is poker big in Europe? Would it still be worth it?

I know that there's a big chinese market for Baccarat and Sicbo. Maybe some content and a google translator would be enough.???

Poker is huge in Europe, particularly Scandinavia. But I agree with Michael and matted, that there is just to much competition, too many people that just have insane amounts of time and knowledge. The one with the biggest database wins. If I had a bit more webmastering skills and more time I would definitely make a dedicated poker site.

I think a dedicated blackjack, bingo, or horses site might be profitable.

I would say poker v. players and then slots. There are still alot of programs out there which allow US and we all know Texas Holdem is big (as Michael said). I don't believe it is a popular game oversees, but last I heard UK was catching the wave. Other than that I say slots because it's a game any age, sex, etc. like to play.

I will say Slots because it's a 'High casino edge' game.
