I would love to work for myself like aksana ! As of 7/1 my state passed a law that all residents must have health insurance. If not, they will get penelized at tax time. .. I know, shocker lol.

So I am keeping my job at a Publishing Co for insurance purposes. It is very expensive to buy it on your own. It's a nice company and has been around over 100 years. They allowed me to go to 3 days a week instead of 5. Although I have to drag myself to the office it also gives me a chance to see coworkers and stay connected.

Thanks for the post, I enjoy seeing the responses.

Default Thanks!

Being a Tranportation Manager I assume entails a lot of responsibility! I thank you for responding to my thread!

It certainely is a pity that legislation in the US pertaining to the online casino industry has a dire effect to online gambling across the globe, hopefully this would change within the foreseeable future.

Cheers

Very interesting line of work you're doing.

Yes indeed it is interesting to read what the owners of portal casinos do for a living!

Kaus, way to go!

I love to see people like you who are a quality human being. I'm a single parent father, and I it kills me to have to leave my son to work.

This is like a hobby to help me deal with my insomnia. During the day I am a MD. before that I was a Mechanical Engineer in Florida (Go Gators!).

Interesting post. Seems like we have everyone from diamond mind owners (wild!) to R&D specialist (Matt).

It would have been nice to see some posts of people who quite their day job because casino portals were doing so well.

I am getting myself ready for my next triathlon, which is a 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike ride and a brisk 10 km run at the end to finish off. All in a days work.

I was a mechanical engineer 2 years ago.

I have been a full-time webmaster for promoting online casinos after I fired my boss on 2005.2.10

I work as a medical transcriptionist from my home. I work for a medical transcription company with full benefits and can set my own work hours for the most part. I am on production pay so I can make as much as I want. I basically work 8 hours a day, as that is usually enough to meet my salary goal for the month. I mostly work in the evenings as I am not a morning person. I have been in this business for over 20 years and love it, and have worked at home for the last 15 years. It allows me lots of time to work on my gambling sites and keep them updated.

Default Just my thoughts!

Hi All,

From the replies I've seen to date many people from all walks of life are involved in the Casino Industry one way or the other. These include, highly qualified and very competent individuals who have the drive and motivation to succeed in an extremely competitive and volatile environment irrespective of their circumtances. From mechanical engineers, software developers, medical scientists ...even ironmen!

The main reason why I've posted this thread is to determine the level of competency of individuals that are promoting Online Casinos. To be honest, has exceeded my wildest expectations. In line with the above, this brings me to my question.

Why can't Online Casinos be more accomodating in assisting webmasters of portal casinos toward the following?:

1). Certain incentives to the owners of portal casinos after they have adhered to stringement measures/criteria imposed by the Online Casinos they're affiliated to. What type of incentives are we talking about here? A minimum compensation fee of $US30 per month paid to the owners of portal casinos.

2). Assisting portal webmasters to improve/increase their PR in the various search engine as well as seo.

Make no mistake, there are Online Casinos who reward their affilaites handsomely! But, I feel that Casinos should extend their assistance toward affiliates outside the ambit of commissions only...!

In conclusion

My intention is not to "open a can of worms" here, but just to air my views from what little knowledge/information I've gleaned from the Online Casino Industry to date. Given the competitive environment Online Casinos should realise that if they're to succeed the very key to their success in future lies in the way they treat their affiliates! Without affiliates very few Online Casinos would succeed!

The point I'm tried to make here is, is that Casinos should take note of the amount of competent and qualified indivuduals that are promoting their Casinos and work out a compensation struture toward those ...

Cheers for now

Cass

That was a very interesting thread you posted, I was always interested in the other lines of work other affiliates are involved in but have forgotten to ask.
