What do you think of revenue share/acquisition fee & hybrid affiliate payment plans?

Historically, affiliates have often had a choice of affiliate revenue arrangements, with most selecting a revenue share and some selecting a fixed acquisition fee.

But increasingly programs are offering a hybrid of the two where there is some fee paid initially for the acquisition of a new customer and a revenue share paid over time based on the gaming site's earnings.

Which type of arrangements do you currently use, and what would you consider in the future.

And be sure to share your reasons in a post.

I have a few hybrids but mostly all are rev share, I choose this over CPA as I am in this for the long run. I do not want to get one commission and never see anymore income coming in.

I would prefer to have all my programs go to hybrid as it is the best way to go, you get the cpa and then the rev share that is the "gift that keeps giving".

I think I'm better off an independent affiliate since you can manage your own time and efforts without compromising the possible effects of it to your partners.

I have a hybrid deal with one program. PokerStars is the only program I have a CPA deal with. I prefer straight rev share but if I'm not confident that my conversions will be decent with a certain program, a hybrid deal could be appealing.
