What percentage of your website traffic is from outside the United States?
In preparation for the presentation I just gave at the Casino Affiliate Convention in Montreal, we gathered information about how much traffic to portal sites was from North American visitors in the second quarter of 2007 (the answer is 43%) and how much traffic to actual online gaming sites was from North American visitors (the answer is 15%). Clearly portal sites are, as a whole, not as strongly focused on attracting visitors outside the United States as are online gaming sites.
We all know the focus for the online gaming industry has moved from the United States to other countries, so I thought it would be interesting to ask GPWA members how much of their traffic is from the United States versus other countries.

I thought I should post the slide from the presentation I just gave at the Casino Affiliate Convention in Montreal that shows the geographic distribution of visitors to online gaming operator sites and online gaming portal sites that includes the information used in my initial post in this thread.
If you would like to view the complete presentation (it is in powerpoint format, so viewing it required IE, or a download to your computer if you want to view it using powerpoint), just click on the link: www.gpwa.org/docs/CACMontrealPresentation2007.pps

US is about 80% of my traffic. Canada is second, about 7%. India is third - about 5%. That leaves 8% for the rest of the world.

Comments :
Central and South Amrica is one good slice, the Africa is very few.
I'll point on Europe and after on Asia or South America

I need to do more to target foreign markets, but right now I am like 90% US, which is discouraging. I have a few region-specific pages, but haven't done any SEO to target Europe or Asia or any other continent other than North America.

I had to base my answer on registrations since I have no idea how I would track that info.
If I look at stats that show regions or countries players register from in a month I avaerage about 2 out of 10 from outside the US.
sO i'M GUESSING ABOUT 10 TO 20% Although I am seeing more and more new players from other Countries and also Canada.

Although we have never done any special marketing for North America, we still get above 50% traffic from there, especially from US. I have not even calculated those who can now only play for fun because of the UIGEA BS.

There is more to this equation then merely visitor IP Ranges as no one makes money based on eyeball traffic alone. You have to consider who makes up the vast majority of deposting players.
And that needs to be considered across the board not merely at one casino who focuses strictly on Non US/Non Canadian players.
The US and Canada made up the lions share of the business world wide. The reasons encompass:
1. Sheer number of consumers with high speed internet access.
2. Disposable income.
3. Percentage of persons who gamble.
4. Percentage of persons who have no cultural aversion to gambling online with entities they do not have a "personal" experience with.
5. Percentage of visitors who make online purchases.
Add in the UK to the North American mix and you realistically have 85%+ of the total revenues being generated world wide.
Michael I believe your sampling of Portal site traffic is far closer to reality in terms of traffic then what is being reported by iGaming sites who are concerned with alarming share holders. There is a great deal of Spin added to all numbers from that side and figures should be taken with a large grain of salt.
