Question What percentage of your website visitors are from the major search engines?

Visits to websites can come from a variety of sources. Some of the more common include organic search results, direct visits by typing in a site name, paid advertising, links from other sites, and newsletters.

According to data from Hitwise, during the month of May 2007, over 33.7% of U.S. visitors to gambling portal sites came from the major search engines. Hitwise statistics show 24.8% of portal site visitors were referred by Google, 6.27% were referred by Yahoo Search, and 2.63% were referred by MSN Search.

What percentage of your website visitors are from the major search engines?

Michael

As a relatively new site I get a medium portion of hits from forums such as cap and paw. The rest are mainly from google keywords. I would expect this to become dominant soon with 90% being from google.

In the month of May, according to Hitwise, 47% of the U.S. based traffic to Casino City was from the top three search engines. Plenty of people visit our sites directly, but a lot of the traffic is from cross-links between our various sites.

My traffic is 20%-29% from search engines, another part of traffic is from other sites, directories and maybe from bookmarks, because I have a lot of traffic directly and I don't know where it from.

30% to 40% for me but mainly my traffic is from direct sources or at least sources I can't trace.

Traffic? What traffic anymore?

Honestly, I see almost as many hits that list GPWA as the referrer as those from search engines somedays! Argh. A site that used to get 1000-2500 hits per day is having days in the double digits now.

I get probably 80% or more of my traffic from search engines. This month has actually been a stellar month as far as new visitors, but absolutely horrendous for signups (only 2... ALL MONTH!). In any case, search engines are still being nice to me. I hope it stays that way.

I get around 30% traffic through the SEs and almost 80% out of that through Google.
