What is this? Thiefware?
Ok, I had something strange on my computer. It has me worried. For the last two weeks.
I have two msn accounts. One is through hotmail,
one thorough my msn.
When I have been logging onto my hotmail, there
has been a yellow highlighted text when I would type my email address in. Strangley, all junk email that
has appeared in my main account started appearing in that account. A lot of it casino adds, so it has to be one of them. Anyway, I couldnt figure out where it was comming from. Then today I purchased some advertising online , and after I hit enter, the creditcard information also highlighted in yellow,.
Is this some kind of thiefware?
My registry mechanic, had 240 errors, but I ran it, and now whatever it was is gone. It never left with just removing spyware. There were no viruses on my scan.
I am highly concerned about someone having my credit card information now.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? I can not find anything on the web about these yellow text highlights.
Thanks
Ama

Re
Oh my gosh, I could hug you,lol
I looked it up. You are rite! I did not know that existed.
I sat here all night going through files that can be
changed, to look authentic, lol Ready to pull out my hair.
Now I feel silly, though I had no idea about the auto filler. Good, I do not have to cancel my credit card, lol
Yep, I believe it started after I installed that thing.
BTW, how do you get rid of those bars? I have another I need to dump. Thanks

It depends on what sort of toolbar it is. The google one you can get rid of in the add / remove programs folder and it's gone.
Others you have to use a program like Spybot or AdAware to remove.
The google one is good however

Oh dear,
Ok, my iinternet explorer was hijaked. So I ran my adaware and removed all the toolbars. ( I also like the google)
Well now I am getting a DNS server error, the odd thing is if I put a direct address in there it will take me there.
If I put in a search term, dsn error.
I ran adaware, regsitry mechanic.
I even did a free trial for another registry cleaner, that did show win32/blank pages over and over again, so I am guessing this is the problem. It does not show in
my registry mechanic, but Im not so sure I want to shell out the money for a new program if it wont help anyway.

Try resetting the default setting back for Internet Explorer.
Close ALL Internet Explorer windows.
On the desktop, right click the IE Icon, (or go to internet settings in the control panel).
Choose the Programs tab at the top.
Choose, Reset Web Settings.
See if that takes care of it....let us know.
