    AussieDave,

No doubt most of the hits to the casinos are from previous visitors to my site who have bookmarked the casino, but there still seems to be more that come from "thin air", which is fine with me. All are welcome.

I've noticed that I still get hits from sites I've removed - seems to come from cached versions of my site (more prevalent in Firefox for some reason).

I have used AddFree Stats for several years now and it really seems to work as far as the information that it gives for your daily traffic. It has been more than sufficient to analyze my traffic.

I use google analytics, and I really enjoy their software solution. I can find detailed stats about many areas of my site, and it really helps me learn where I should start promoting.

I know we don't X out URLs for membership applications and at least one applicant noticed the number of people checking out her site coming from the GPWA page. It was pretty funny to get an PM asking if the spike in traffic was an indicator that the review was near completion!
That was me, lol. Think I got 13 in one day, the curiosity was killing me.

I agree with Jagan, Analytics is the best. I also use Awstats and Webalizer, but Analytics on a daily basis. However, if I was ever the sell the site I'd definitely publish Awstats, it's amazing how different the results that each package produces are.

It was mostly initiated within "member only" forums to prevent inquisitive site owners tracing back the link via their stats but it's often used to prevent backlinks too (in light of Google counting it as a potential "vote")

i recently started using Google Analytics for a non gambling site and was very impressed with the amount of information they give considering it is completely free.
