When do you use Social Media?

When in the office for my 'day job' I don't have internet at my desk, so can't use facebook, twitter etc. Even at the internet terminal I suspect they are blocked.

When at 'home' in my home office (I am part time) I tend to have twitter 'on' all the time using Twhirl. I check Facebook every now and again (every few hours) I guess. I have a Facebook page for my site, and a Twitter account for it, but that I only set up yesterday! Not quite sure what to do with them yet, and don't have many followers obviously so far, so I will have to see how that develops.

I said every few hours, but some days it's more often. I use twitter more than facebook, but do use this app that auto posts on FB what I do on twitter. Sort of killing two birds with one stone.

I have two twitter accounts, one for 'business' and one associated just with my bingo site. I have a page on Facebook for the site (they used to be called fan pages I think but you can set up ones specifically for websites now) and I have set that to auto-tweet (to the site's twitter stream) updates on the site's Facebook page.

I have only just set all this up so have very few followers and 'fans' of the Facebook page yet, and am not aggressively promoting or anything (just a couple of 'follow us' buttons on the homepage of the main site) but am kinda leaving it there, updating with blog posts etc and seeing what happens.

Im big on facebook. My JustArsenal site has 2500 friends (PR3), Chelsea one 900 and growing. Twitter JustArsenal (PR4) has 550 and growing.
I think you should use because its there and there is no work involved (all automatic).
Im sure my hits from them dont amount to 30 a day, but hey its kudos to google!
