Where did you meet you other half?

I can start with one ...

I met my wife in a mental hopsital (well thats what they were called at the time).

My wife was working for me as a waitress when we met! The first time we sat down and spoke to each other I was so tired from work that I fell a sleep mid conversation!

I met mine in the air freshener section of the grocery store!

I was "fooling around" with my wifes cousin and older sister at the time in high school when I met her. We soon became an item and married a few years later.

I will only tell you about how I met my first wife..............my second now is called my partner and safer that way. The first took my house,car and what was left in the join bank account.............lol

I first saw my wife after many months as a volunteer in a Kibbutz in Israel called "Degania Bet" on the shores of the Sea of Galliee in the Jordon Valley. A very beatiful part of Israel and well worth a visit one day. I will also hand my assistance to anyone who needs help as a tourist in Israel.

Anyhow,getting back to the real point of the issue............it was around Christmas time and in Israel its called the "Festival of lights" another long story of how the small amount of oil burned for a week.

In the Kibbutz they always celebrate all the hight holidays and for this one was no diferent.

The setting was a late night Bar-B-Que and after a few beers............she came towards me from out of the drifting smoke. I thought I was dreaming,but as she spoke I suddenly woke up.......lol

Thats my little story about how I met my wife and several years laters later she told me that as we spoke she never understood a word I said.

Could have been the beer maybe..............but it was just my strong Yorkshire acent as my Hebrew was not good enought at the time.

Could go on for longer, but I am sure you all have better things to do.......lol

My wife and I met in 1986 at a Labor Day picnic. It must have been Karma because i had no intention of attending but got tired of working on a holiday Monday and dropped in for a few cold ones.

I ran into some friends who just happened to be sitting with my future wife and the rest is history....

Some of you already know my story. I met Joe online. He had a free games and chat (gameinacan) that I happened upon. We chatted for a couple years and then I had a bbq and invited him from ohio to massachusetts.

He stayed the weekend and then said he wasn't going back. It's been 4 years now. I keep telling him the party is over but he still stays.

I met mine at a bar.

I had just recently gone through a divorce and was going a little crazy with the night life and frequented one of the bars here in town with a friend of mine.

Well one night, I happen to look at the door to the bar because people were walking in and there he was! I looked at my frind and said "OMG.......who is that gorgeous man?"

Turns out he was the brother of one of my friends there at the bar.

There was some point in the night that he had walked over to where we were at and then walked back to his bar stool (we hadn't been introduced yet) and I looked at my friend as he was walking away and said "Geezzz.....he could have put on some tighter pants!"

Turns out, after we were introduced by his brother, I found out that my man of 7 years now, had just left his wife of 20 years and was going through a hell of a time emotionally, not eating, drinking too much, etc.......

Poor guy and here I was making fun of him! LOL

Ha, good question...lol. I was at the usual bar doing what us men do trying to pick up the ladies...lol..asked her cousin to dance, got turned down flat but told...my cousin is single...that was 17 years ago almost to the day.

We now have 2 kids, mortage coming out our asses, daily stresses that come with it but I wouldn't change it for the world! A man is only as good as the women by his side.....hmmm....maybe that is why I suck...LOL!!!...joking ...

Well met Her Indoors aka mrspomp at my cousins weeding reception. Popped over to the table she was at to speak to another cousin of mine and she looked at me n smiled.

Jenn and I originally met when I was 18 and she was 16 through a mutual friend. We dated for 29 days (she always reminds me of this, because I broke up with her right before our "1 month anniv")

So anyway, skip ahead 4 years later and I'm swinging by my college to check out chicks, and come upon her and a friend in the cafeteria. So I sit down and say hi and talk her up.

Then I pop the question:

You wanna go out some time?

Her response is:

Really?! (gleefully)


And so we started dating, then "going steady" and eventually got married in 2005 (just celebrated 4 years on Oct 1st). It's amazing she still puts up with me, a real saint that girl

I was actually introduced to my other half by Schalk the day before new years eve last year. Very random and unexpected.

I was in Melbourne for new year because all of my friends had plans with their partners and I was the only single one out of all of us, so I just booked flights on my own and thought I'll do whatever happens. Better than being home alone.

So this particular night I went with some friends to Crown Casino and messaged Schalk to have a drink with me. He bought my other half along and the rest is history.

Plus I think it was mojo and joe that were pushing vibes from across the planet for me to meet someone before valentines day because mojo and I had a bet for like 7 months or something that if I met someone before V-day this year that she wins, and I would have to send her $100, or if i didnt meet anyone, she would have to put Rewards in all the top spots on all of her sites for 1 month.

Turns out she won

But I'm now one of the happiest women alive.

Some people have some real funny stories about how they met.. I'm interested to also know how you guys proposed! (Sorry for throwing a side topic in btw but thought it was kinda relevant)

Me and my wife met at work in Lodon - it was October 6th 2003.

I kept getting caught looking at her and vice-versa - we kissed on haloween for the first time and never looked back since.

I notice no one picked me up on where i met my wife and asked which one of us was the in patient!

In answer to Renees question, i asked Tina just after our eldest was born, when we were not together. We split up after 3 months, however, by then were expecting un be known to us.

She said no, however, i managed to get an apartment and con her in to joining me there, she still said no and both familys did not want us together and tried equally as hard to talk us out of each other.

Being the great salesman that i am i managed to talk tina in to marrying me in the end.

Had plenty of times when i wondered why, as has tina, however, now, we would be together every waking moment if the chance allowed.
